Ive noticed the headphone audio boost does absolutely nothing when toggling on or off, no difference at all... this is not right

My Z30 was a whole different beast when audio boost was on...

No issues with my headphones volume being too low, and I live in NYC and deal with the loud subway, etc.... using Grado 10 headphones.

    Try sideloading Viper4android

I use it on my note 3 and it fixed everything.

Will try on passport as the speakers seem to lack bass.

Still using note for few days while I switch over.

I find the volume to be low as well through my bose headphones, didn't have this problem with my Z30. Hopefully it can fixed through software.

Same problem here: using rha in-ear and it is terrible low.

Is there another fix for that instead of aeroplane boosting in equalizer?
    Because this didn't help really.

Count me in on that. Have tested against an iPod and the sound is much louder on it. I will check Neutron Player and my Z30 when I get a chance. I also feel the audio boost does nothing at the moment. I hope it is a software glitch.

Rockin a Passport and Z30! Two devices are better than 1!

Using the aux to my car stereo, the volume is significantly lower than my Z10. That's with the audio boost on.

Agreed. Same headphones (Bose QC20I) worked better (i.e. Volume keys on headphones worled) and are much louder too playing the same song with the BlackBerry device set at the same volume level

Hopefully this is fixed in an update, I just got the classic, and audio boost does work on earphones (apple pods, volume buttons also work for me). Audio boost doesn't activate in my car through aux, but I will say the volume was good enough, much much louder then the passport in a car.

I have the E6 and it's definitely worth it. Small, portable and significantly boosts my Passport's volume.

I think it's a software issue because the volume was lower thru my passport as well but after a hard reset it was the same as my z10. I'm on 10.3.908.

I understand the problem is that most portables of today don't have enough power to supply the necessary juice to certain headphones which is why the low volume there just isn't enough powder going to the headphones at least in my case

Not sure if this is possible since I'm not sure how leaks really work. But with my classic its running 10.3.1.747 and the volume is as I said much better than the Passport.

If someone has an updated leak running on their passport, does the audio get any louder?

Usually that has to do with the earphones not the phone so try putting the earphones into a different device and see if it's better

No there is an issue with the volume when listening thru headphones, it plays significantly lower than thru a Z10 or anyone BlackBerry 10 device. I've personally tweeted to Michael Clewley about it when the Passport first launched.

I have the leak running and actually low volume. So it is not better with the leak.

Try now my classic with Bse in ear. Hopefully it is louder there.

They seemed to removed 11 from the volume settings since 10.3.xxxx sort of a drag when on a plane where just one more notch would help blot out the distractions.

Anyone find a way to fix this issue? leaked firmware versions make a difference?

I too just switched form z10 to passport and fine the volume about 25% lower in headphones, also audio boost makes no difference at all, on or off the volume is the same

My only issue with the phone with the volume, hopefully it gets fixed somehow. I believe it has the same sound card as the Nexus 5, and the Nexus 5 is louder but more importantly actually has Bass when listening to music through the headphone jack.

I recommend an in-line headhpone amp. I picked up a Fiio E06 (these go for around $30-$35), and it's proven to be capable, and surprisingly good sounding:

More than worth it, and it pairs well with my ASUS tablet, as well as my two 'berry phones - Torch 9810, and Q10..

Think bt headphones are the best solution.
Sound quality can be very good, any loss in quality due to aptX lossy protocol (but very low loss) is made up by built in amp in the phones which will be matched to the drivers.

I just picked up a Passport for my fiance. The output volume form the headphone jack is very weak. Plugged a couple pairs of headphones in, plugged into car auxiliary or into stereo auxiliary. All is fine with my BlackBerry Z30 and her iPhone connected to all the above. Is there a solution? Buying an extra device to boost audio isn't a good solution.
