Although the speakerphone volume is great on the Passport, I noticed that the headphone volume is not that loud, not even with the "Headphone Audio Boost" enabled and the volume turned up all the way.

    Has anyone else noticed this?

Usually that has to do with the earphones not the phone so try putting the earphones into a different device and see if it's better

Same issue here. Its output is significantly lower than even my Q10.

Hmmmm... interesting. I hope this is something that can be fixed through software.

The volume is terrible. My #1 beef with this phone right now.

In a quiet room listening to a podcast I have to have the volume at 50% just hear it. On a busy city street 100% and still struggle. That is with the headphone boost on.

Software won't fix it because they used a weak internal headphone amp.

It is bad enough I may return this thing.

I'm not sure that software can't fix it. My Microsoft Surface 2 had some pretty weak speaker output that was corrected with an OS update. Here's hoping...

Yes, I do. It doesn't seems to make an discernible difference. Maybe an OS glitch?

I do and as I stated it is still too low anything under 50% can barely be heard.

The only thing I can think of is that the better the headphones you use the more power they need to push them.

Cheap skullcandies may sound louder than the bose I use.

I think we are saying the same thing then. On most phones you can't even get to the second to highest setting because it gets so loud.

Iphones are known for getting to crazy volume levels because allegedly steve jobs was hard of hearing and played his music loudly.

No problem here. I actually find the headphone out on these far louder and clearer than my laptop, certainly an improvement over my Q10. There may be discrepancies in parts used during manufacturing.

That is in the music app though right? I don't use the music app. I use Rdio and spotify and Bpod for podcasts.

I am not sure if this is your problem. I solved mine by making sure I put on my passport's bundled head-set correctly, i.e. left side on the left side correctly.

I find the volume will be very low and without any bass if you put it on with incorrect sides.
