So all has been going great with the Passport until tonight. My BlackBerry HS-700 Bluetooth headset will not auto connect without manual intervention. Secondly, the headphones that came with the passport do not work. I then tried my iPod headphones and they work but not for recorded videos.

So I called BlackBerry and opened a ticket. Not sure what to expect. I haven't ever opened a ticket with BlackBerry and this is my 5th BlackBerry device.

Disheartened... everything was going so well.

Absolutely. Tried a hard reset. To no avail.

So really curious how others have found the customer service from BlackBerry or lack-there-of.

I suggest a factory reset, or a reload. If it works for one it should work for all

I appreciate that advice but I'm also looking for feedback on opening a ticket with BlackBerry

Defective accessories are not uncommon and can happen. My z30 came with a defective USB charger block.

Hard to say if this is a Passport hardware problem or an accessories problem. My HS-700 has never had an issue and still works perfectly with my Z10. And the earphone issue seems like a combo problem of Passport and earphone.

Well it seems as thought the headphone jack is pooched. BBVE fails on those tests.

As for the HS-700, is anyone here using one? I'm wondering if the headset just isn't compatible with the Passport. That would be disappointing as it's a BlackBerry product.

On my second passport now. Headphone jack works. HS-700 not so much. Sucks that I have to move away from my BlackBerry headset to some other manufacturer.

Hs-700 works fine for my passport, I did have to delete it from my bluetooth list and re-pair it but after that no issues!

So I've been pretty frustrated with BlackBerry customer support on the bluetooth issue. Basically my HS-700 takes between 1 and 3 minutes to connect with my Passport.

Here is the BlackBerry CSR response to that:

You should ask them about the "document" they are referring to.
No where in the work it takes 3 minutes to sync a headset. Even generic headsets don't take that much time.

I have an HS-700 and it is working great. Stream radio for 7+ hours a day. Have taken and made about a dozen calls and no one on the other end complained about call quality.

I'm using a BlackBerry VM-605 speaker phone reliably without issues. And I also use their BlackBerry music Gateway simultaneously for playing music on my car stereo. They both work fine and I like being able to split phone calls and sound from media. Haven't had an HS-700 for quite awhile so I can't help with that one.

Rockin a Passport and Z30! Two devices are better than 1!
