I can't get my new Passport to play music over my stereo without static in the background. I believe it to be because it recognizes the stereo as "headphones" instead of "lineout". Can you guys let me know if your passport works correctly with no static on your aux ports?
Anyone at all. Please, I just want to see if it is specific to the phone or if my phone is defective.

Yes, terrible static. Has to be on the phone side because I have other devices that work fine when playing music over the stereo in my car.
I just plugged some old computer speakers into mine, and it was static-y. I had assumed it was the speakers. I still kind of do. Try a new cable maybe

Nobody is answering me. Maybe it was phrased wrong.
If it's any help, I plugged mine into an aux and I get serious hiss from the right hand channel. I tried my old Nokia lumia straight after and it was faultless. :s

Is the phone plugged into the charger as well? I used to have static if the phone was playing through the aux port while on the car charger.

I plugged mine in for the first time a couple of nights ago. Sound was fine. Honda Fit 2008.
