Want to move my spouse to the passport but don't want to deal with the SIM transfer.

Not a tmobile one, but I did cut down a virgin mobile micro sim, works perfectly.

Thanks. I heard some work but really want to confirm for Tmo before she is left without service.
Yes, it was easy. I just went into a t-mobile store and they cut my sim from my Z10 into a nano SIM for free. Goodluck!
It is a practice that I have used and has been touted on the internet. Do a Google search. You can even download a template for trimming. Use a file to smooth the edges if needed to fit better.
Be very careful with this OP. The micro sim is thicker than a nano sim card. You can damage the sim tray this way. I would recommend buying a nano sim card. In Canada they are only $5. Just a word of caution that's all.

Cool thanks. I was thinking Tmo store would do it but I've never been to a TMO store.. nor any other carriers except back in the days for Sprint.
I definitely know it works for some but have heard some don't like ATT.
That one I heard is easily solved by filing down the plastic.

And why you do not want just to get new sim card?!
Posted via fantastic BlackBerry Passport. Damn, this thing is so awesome, that I am short of words to describe it's awesomenes. Like Majestic As...
I did this and it was fairly straightforward. It works fine in the passport.
Honestly, it probably would have made more sense to pop into the local T-mobile store and get a new SIM but I couldn't be bothered.

As many sim cards that I've swapped between Samsung BlackBerry iPhone T-mobile has never charged me.
Your case may be different but it's worth a try, even if you have to call ahead.

TMO charges $15 for SIM cards. Gotta make money somehow.
Good luck with that.. usually you cannot see the end of the line..
But if you go in a TMobile store please do SHOW OFF the Passport..
Reps need to understand there are other phones out there other than iPhones.
Even more important: they need to realize that BlackBerry is not going anywhere and it is still innovating..
I am pretty sure they will soon ask questions about that new nice phone lol

Small country, but free? :p
I assume you meant roaming. :)
SIM card usually has a charge. I think average is $10 and then you have to hassle with transferring. I have pre-paid, not sure how that would affect my number. etc. or my plan. if cutting it down works why bother with possible human error in transferring and dealing with CS.
go to best buy
I did my SIM transfer online and it took less than 60 seconds to do.
In the end it will probably be faster then you cutting, and potentially ruining her SIM card.
True, but the guy at the store gave me mine for free.
Filing down? Honestly why bother when most T-Mobile corporate owned stores I've been to don't charge, even though they are supposed to, for a SIM card.
TMobile gave me a free sim for mine.

Tmo will switch out your sim do not mess with the cutting business because the sim card slot on the passport is spring operated and a cut micro sim can mess the slot up

Do NOT do it. T mobile cut down my Z30 for Passport and I had to take the Passport apart to get it out.

Never do that. It ruined my passport
