Wait so the top part of the backplate completely pops off? I thought it would swing open and remain attached. Does this make that small piece likely to get lost?

Yeah it comes completely off. I hear the clip is very dependable, so unless you have a habit of taking it off, you likely won't misplace it.

Cool thanks for the info. But with my luck, i am worried about dropping it and that top part flying across the floor ending up underneath some heavy furniture lol!

    Exactly.

iPhone is a skinny, long, weird thing. Sure the Passport is wide, but it can be the Note 3 of BlackBerry and get people talking about it again. Then in 6 months or so after it comes out, boom, new full touchscreen device, 64 bit, and really shake things up!

I still think this could be just what BlackBerry needs: a distinctive design with a decent spec and a clever new twist in UI.

This phone will be a conversation piece.

The problem with BBM Protect is it is an organizational tool - it works within a closed network. So anyone you want to use it with will need to be on your "cloud" or if you are adventurous your Server.
Not true. With BBM Protected you can send messages to anyone outside the organisation even if they are just standard BBM users.

Has anyone seen an Android app running on the Passport? I'm hoping that Android apps will run in a 16:9 resolution, leaving black space on the sides of the Passport screen.

But the messages you send won't be 'protected'

Integrated plug (HDMI / Micro USB 2.0)

Check out the video in the CrackBerry main page. You can see just one port. It's MHL style, as discussed before in various other threads.

So it's not SlimPort then? Is MHL better then Micro HDMI and will you be able to charge the device while using HDMI out at the same time?

Whilst I wouldn't want it as my main device, that'd still be the Z30, I'd really like it as a secondary Wi-Fi only option.

That's the issue with BBM protected, and now this... I think many people wouldn't mind paying for these add ons (we already buy apps, accessories, etc). Why not let non-enteprise users also buy into these features?

    Posted via CB10
I agree. Create a plan, various tiers, where a user gets blend / BBM protected / hosted PIM services / more services in BlackBerry Protect etc for consumers.
