Yeah I had this issue, but not anymore hands and fingers have adapted quite nicely and typing real good and fast! Picked up my wife's Q10 to send a message the other day, now that really hurt!.....I asked myself how on earth I managed to use that titchy phone? Just to think that was my best phone ever a few months back...

Hehe I know what you mean. The Q10 is my backup phone. I get a bit shocked on how I ever cranked emails on it all day long.

Ease up your grip. That's the answer anytime you experience pain in typing. I find that when you try to type at high speed in the beginning, the strength of your grip increases and causes pain. Just get used to the keyboard and slowly increase your speed. Eventually you will be able to blaze thru typing without any discomfort at all.

I also have that same problem! I thought only I have it. Lol. The weight and the size of the Passport might cause some issues for some people.

My hands are rather tiny so I do have trouble supporting/typing at the same time on occasion. The phone is heavy! Lol

I've never used a PKB before the Passport but I never have sore fingers. But I also usually don't type too many messages or emails at once.

After a year of use. Finally I got used to it. The first 3 months was especially torturing. The pain is more when you are using it lying down.

Still want a VKB. That said, I would like a softer keyboard for these arthritic hands. The Passport is Boss.

I had a HP Pre3 with a narrower 4 row KB & never had any pain... I attribute it to the width...

by looking at that pic, you hold the passport wrong. i barely hold the bottom 1/3 of it when i type. my thumbs are almost vertical when i type, yours are horizontal, no wonder they hurt as hell

How are your fingers sore? Don't you use your thumbs like everybody else?

Your fingers will eventually get used to it as they strengthen. I remember my thumbs used to find pressing on either the Q10, Classic, or Passport as exceptionally difficult. But now it's no problem. As with most things, your body will eventually adapt.

Interesting inasmuch as the higher CHIN on the SE was alleged to make it easier to hold, eh?? I forgot why they came out with the SE otherwise; didn't everyone expect the it to be android??
