And I have to say best device I've ever owned. I've been a long time BlackBerry user, but I've also had the iPhone 5s and iPhone 6 for periods of time too. My most recent BlackBerry was the Q10.
The form factor is perfect, not to big/small... fits great in my pockets when I want it too, even with snuggish jeans on.
The way the phone handles all my emails, documents, downloads etc is pretty much perfect. The keyboard is spot on, the swipe gestures are wonderful. I love how it keeps track of all attachments for incoming and outgoing emails etc to access or download them for future usage.
The battery life has been consistently solid, typical average for me has been right around 21 hrs with consistent use. On my heaviest usage days, I still get atleast 17 hrs which is more than enough. It's just great, especially when traveling to not have to worry about needing to charge the phone.
Traveling to Europe or South America is drama free with getting connected to the main mobile service providers. I can literally be in the middle of a mountain range and still be connected if needed.
Apps? For me, plenty. I have all that I need, with a few fun apps like Netflix and a few games thrown in as well. But really I don't use this device for games, I have an ipod fith gen for that. But frankly I've found that the majority of the apps I previously downloaded on my past iphones were productivity apps, which the BlackBerry already does.
Camera, at first I was disappointed... quality was shaky at best. But I've found with each update that BlackBerry has put out the quality has improved substantially. In fact, I would now place the actual picture quality to be on par and in some cases better than the iPhone 6. My wife still uses the 6, so we often end up taking the same pictures, so I get a comparison. It's still a little slow on the focus and speed. And I do wish it was better while moving. Also while clarity of the video is generally outstanding, the zoom quality is not so good.
The passport has pretty much eliminated my usage on traditional tablets and even the majority of my laptop use. I still use a desktop PC a ton, but I find the phone does everything else I need it to. I generally browse in full desktop mode, I can print from it and I feel safer completing tasks on here than on the tablets or laptop. Whether or not I am doing banking or using my cc to make reservations.
Yes, I went through a few of the growing pains that others experienced as well such as a little flickering after the first update, but those issues are resolved and the phone is an absolute beast a true work horse.
A couple of other personal things.... I simply LOVE the attention this thing demands. Everywhere, people are impressed and I constantly brag on the device. And my wifes iPhone when traveling? Well, I had to get her a Q5 just so she can have consistent communication access when out of the country lol.
Thanks for letting me share my experience with the Passport, I think this final pic, comment says it well
