Has anyone experienced the blinking green light even where there are no unread messages?
I have been getting this issue on both my BlackBerry phones lately
Any idea what it could be?

I know BB has an option to flash the LED to indicate service - I see this a lot with the people at work (we have a mix of Bold 9900's and Torch's left). Mind you I've checked both my work BB (Bold) and my personal (PRIV) and can't find where to turn that setting on or off...
Found it - it's under Screen Display on the Bold. "LED Coverage Indicator". That's my best guess. Could that have been switched on either by a software update or by clicking around?
    Good luck!

This has been happening to me lately, a reset does cure the problem temporarily though.

Restart seems like a work around solution.
But it would be good to know what actually causes it.

Well, I guess would be, review all the notifications in set up, see if any have been set to flash green, I think the flash continues until the proper app is opened. If none are set to flash green, you might need to wipe and reload OS.
