Through some method, I got Google play on the Passport, downloaded Netflix which works great but for some reason I cannot get it to show the videos in landscape mode. It will go landscape to pick a title but when the movie starts, it goes back to portrait. Is there any workaround for this? Just curious

You do know you are using a passport which has a square display...Turn it any orientation and the video stays the same!

Yes I know the screen is square. However, the phone is not! Therefore, it still remains easier to hold sideways for prolonged viewing. Especially with a flip case.

Makes sense when you put it that way. But I'm afraid that's a bug( or intended) with the Passport bb10 media player.

Holding it sideways doesn't make a difference but it's more comfortable to scroll using the keyboard that way.

not sure if anyone is still looking at this thread

I felt same way, easier to set it horizontally to watch/hold...
Anyways, download set orientation from google store then use that to set it. Since netflix is an android app, it will follow whatever you set it to. It even works in "auto" mode too but I set it manually then close it when done. I don't like having things running when not needed >.>
