I used the save the home page trick. Now when I open it, it takes a long time before it allows you to type in the search box.
FB also taking longer to load as well.

Clear the cache.... or might try reloaded the OS... found that always offers some improvement in performance.
Now I've seen it all. Google loading slow? Wipe your phone!
Sweet mother of God save us all. I wish I could use that excuse for everything in my line of work

Hillary did! ....and she was high up.
Before that, just check the obvious causes first....
...out of curiosity, how long does it take to load up.....using wifi or data ? (its normally quick on Passport).
... if using wifi is the router at capacity ( dependent on whether the kids in the other room a playing full-blown movies and video games, and that can throttle the response times....or something else is transmitting in the background other app(s) runnning at same time. Someone borrowng your router (unexplained activity) next door, or even signal interference from a nearby router diminishing distance/speed.
Check the router and see if its busy updating some other electronic device in the home/office.
Try it when the wifi router is pretty silent (no visible activity)
Try it when right next to the wifi router (in case you are getting dead low-speed spots somewhere in the house)
Data similiar....getting a poor connection might slow speed of all internet activity
The past several days my pp is going the same thing.. gets super hot where the LED is on the phone and its sucking down battery, sometimes I'm lucky to make the full day. Normally I can go home with 30-45% remaining under an intense day of use.

Reboot. Don't touch the phone for 20 minutes.
Then load device monitor and look at current CPU usage. Everything should be less than 1% with CPU idling around 6%.
Interesting... "system" is using anywhere from 3-11% processor, constantly going up and down...

How about everything else?
Nope. Super low.

Yet another reason I can't wait to ditch this ****ty BlackBerry. Literally watching the battery drop before my eyes while browsing the past ten minutes. Phone getting real hot in the top right corner. SO annoyed.

Well it would be nice if you'd try to troubleshoot the issue... in the battery monitor what is using the most battery?
I mean, all under 1% at idle?

Attached three pics of the system. One is the past 12 hours. Something is majorly screwy.

For instance, ten to fifteen minutes ago I had I think 30% battery. All I've been doing is browsing Google for car parts. Now, 10-15 mins later I'm down to 20% battery and the phone is HOT at the top right corner.

Do you have a lot of Android apps?

I understand your issue with the battery but when you say "taking too long," are we talking in seconds???
Everyone should have to learn how to use a device the old fashion way.... on a dial up modem.
You (generally speaking) will never find any mobile device that is perfect because it doesn't exist.
Excepting THAT is the first step to recovery. The next step is to enjoy all the great things your device has to offer.
ALl the things that you have in your device outweigh the few annoyances that (if you really try)
you can live with.
Yes, the same ones I've been using for some time now. BUT, I did just update fb the other Day to the latest version (android facebook lite). I just deleted the app and within minutes the heat has died down significantly. We'll see tomorrow if battery life is affected.

As an update, with very little change in use from the week, my battery is back to normal and the phone isn't heating up anymore. It was definitely the android app facebook lite that updated and caused these issues. Thanks for the help guys and good luck to the OP

You are going to find that the fewer android apps you have on your Passport, the better it performs. This is why people like myself (with only 12 android apps, none power hungry) are experiencing little if any problems. I just don't need any of them. If you require anything that updates, notifies etc and is android, your device is going to overheat and perform badly. The runtime is just not as efficient as a true android device, plain and simple.
Yes, they kill the battery even if not open

Although Android apps and services cannot run in the background on BB10, a situation can be created (with a poorly coded app, or a corrupted Android Runtime environment) where the app and the Runtime continually wake each other in a battery-eating frenzy. Sometimes the only way to solve it is to delete the app or factory-reset (depending on where the problem lies).
This! I had been trying random Amazon apps on my Q10 a while ago. My phone would be dead by noon with almost no use. I have decided not to use anymore of them ever or even the converted ones in BBW. Some still show as active in Ghost Commander even after being closed.

Well the plot thickens. Perhaps it WASN'T my Facebook lite app that I've never had an issue with... it's totally the browser! Just spent fifteen minutes browsing within four tabs... phone is down OVER 10% drop from 58 to 45% remaining! And, the phones getting hot again. Just put the phone on my ladies leg randomly and she said "hot" without any form of prompt. Damn BlackBerry is literally falling apart from the inside out.

Android apps? Do not need them. Thanks to Memory. What was Blackberry thinking?
