When I type in the Google search box, I no longer have any suggestions that used to drop down underneath? Just started to do this over the next week or so. I haven't changed any settings that I know of, so it's all a bit strange. Any idea how I can get the suggestions drop down back? Many thanks in advance.

Are you referring to using Google as your default browser search engine?

    Settings >> Display and Actions

There should be a toggle button for Search Suggestions.

If it's already on, try turning it off and on again.

Maybe try resetting search engines if that doesn't work.

I don't know if this will fix it, but worth a shot.

With everyone that's having problem, is this happening in your browser or widget on main screen?

OK everybody. I've got conflicting answers here.

If you've got the widget on your main screen, I'm going on a limb here and saying widget upgrade on the android platform has left broken code.

Browser would be similar issue and I'm more certain of that since Android browser has seen updates two or three different times in Play Store. Since the search engine is Google, I'm thinking it's another case of default browser getting further left behind.

This is the Passport forum and it's the BB10 browser.

I'm no IT guy, but I'm pretty sure if the search bar relies on code within browser talking with Google servers, then Google updates have caused breakage on the Google side not playing nicely with the Passport Browser. Compatibility isn't forever. Like runtime being stuck at 4.3 and new feature rolled out in 5,6,7 or 8. Doesn't break the browser just leads to missing features.

Aren't dropdown suggestions, in essence, a feature? Since I'm just a dumb finance guy, I sometimes look for the simple answer because sometimes that's all I got. You know, the power button, paying the phone bill, turning off airplane mode.

None of that explains why it works for some and not for others. Google suggestions work just fine on my Classic browser.

I definitely can't explain it but I guess it could be worse. Lucky for you that you have the Classic and it's good for now.
