Has anyone gotten this account connected?

For some reason it keeps saying it cannot authenticate. Although I know the password is correct.

I am able to set it up using card cal dav and email.

    So weird!

Do you have two-factor authentication enabled?

Google dropped support for EAS on a moving forward basis after January 2013 (I think). For example, if you had EAS set up on a previous device, it will function as long as you use the device. Once you switch over to another device, it will default to IMAP, CardDAV and CalDAV to sync. It is device-specific.

I had EAS on my Z10, but had to go to IMAP/CardDAV/CalDAV on my Passport. Overall it's not that big a deal, just the calendar and contacts syncing is not instantaneous.

I do. I have generated a password and tried using that but it didn't work. Also disabled the two factor and tried that. Also wasn't working.

I remember them dropping it for unpaid accounts going forward but all other accounts that had it will keep it.

True, but only on the device that it was set up on. If you change devices, you lose EAS. This means that *eventually* there will not be any unpaid EAS accounts.
