I've noticed from posts that people who got the Z10 stl100-1 had a lot more problems than stl100-3.

Luckily (knock/wood) I've never had a problem with my stl 100-3 in almost 2 years.

Are there good or bad versions of the passport that anyone has noticed so far?

    Thx

As far as I know there is only one type of Passport out here, whether BlackBerry have other variants I don't know

Via Z10 or Passport, whichever is to hand

Correct me if I'm wrong but the Z10STL100-3 was the only phone put into mass production. 100-1and100-2 were the testing devices sent only to developers. What you might be referring to is the issues some faced due to poor manufacturing or QC from some areas, Mexico being one if I recall. Or you might see on these forums people struggling to get leaked of downloads for those devices but the one had less ram and aren't really supported to begin with.

This early it's hard to say if the passport has similar issues with production or if they are all coming out solid, within margin or error.
All mass production sees some issues here and there but they should not reflect the norm which seems to be solid devices with no issues from what I read on here. Battery performance and strange lag can usually boil down to buggy software or strange user habits.

tl;dr no, nothing you should worry about

Don't think so. In India only the STL-1 was sold.

Not quite. The Z10 (STL) had lots of variants including the 100-1, which had a different TI processor (as opposed to a Qualcomm snapdragon) and was intended for developing countries without LTE service. I imagine the OP is asking whether there is a version of the Passport that is equivalent to the STL 100-1, and the answer is NO.

As of right now there is only one variant of the Passport in production. The SQW100-1.

Blackberry have been known to have quality control issue in their Mexico plant. The current passport variant is a solid build though.

When I ordered mind online, I prayed that I did not get a defective unit upon arrival because I did not want to go through the tedious return and exchange process. So far I'm very happy with my unit and I haven't notice any flaws when it arrived.

absolutely wrong dude. they were made to specific countries. stl100-1 no LTE, stl100-2 and 3 with LTE but different bandwidth.
