OK, my Passport comes in tomorrow and I would like to know if it would be best to sync with Google or with Apple? Which is the most dependable to sync with since I have Gmail as my main mail source. I need Mail, Contacts, and Calendar to sync at near perfect levels as I have 2000 customer files to deal with. Any suggestions would be helpful.

If you are using Google services for contacts and calendar too, that's not problem. BB can sync them just fine. Problem is when you are using shared calendars where adding them is little bit complicated.

I use gmail and my wife uses the same account. calendars emails and contacts all synch to both devices including sent and received messages. No issues with gmail for my Passport and my wifes Z10.

Thanks for the info, looks like Google will be the one that I use. I don't have Enterprise so that is not a option.

The reason that I asked about Apple is because I thought that I read that you could sync contacts and calendar with IOS. But I think Gmail etc is the better way for me to go.

Outlook.com is better than Gmail as far as email, contacts and calendar integration is concerned.

    BB10 is desktop outlook compatible.
One drive cloud file system integrated native app.
Able to sync tasks which Gmail cant.

When adding an account on BB10 opening a outlook/hotmail email is better integrated compared to Gmail, for example, with outlook you can toggle the syncing of contacts, calendar, email and tasks right at the account page.

Can't do the same with Gmail. On top of that Gmail scans your emails.

yes , in advanced settings (which you can find if you add a account) you can enter your icloud account to sync your contacts.
I always use this , it's pretty fast and it works fine.

I only used the contact sync from icloud. cannot tell you anything about the other icloud stuf

iCloud works fine for contacts, emails and calendar on my Passport (I have an iMac at home).
But I also have an Outlook account and I prefere it for emails.

Hi. Can you please confirm how you set this up?
My wife has a bunch of shared calendars in icloud and I used to be able to see/update from my Q10.
When I follow same setup procedure on my PP, I get "connection details cannot be located, use advanced". At that point I say f*ck Apple and forget about it for a few days -- then try again...
Do I need to enable anything in icloud?

I just entered my icloud adress and my password and... it worked !

If that can help, here are the settings on my Passport:

    For the calendar, I see:
    Server adress: caldav.icloud.com

    For the contacts:
    Server adress: contact.icloud.com

    For emails:
    Server: imap.mail.me.com
    Port 993
    Cryptage: SSL
SMTP user: the icloud mail without @icloud.com
    SMTP server: smtp.mail.me.com
    SMTP port: 587
    Cryptage SMTP: StartTLS

I too have to manage my day to day operations with customer appontments and contacts files. I've used both and google is the best and completely auto syncs with all devices!

Duplicate contacts (between, say, iCloud, Google, and Facebook) can be "linked" into one.

I have had them but it was because the names in each of my email accounts were not spelled correctly. For example
    First name:. John
    Last name: Smith

    Second account
    First name: John Smith
    Last name:

So I ensured my multiple accounts including bbm had the same names and bingo no issue anymore.

Just try to avoid them, by separately consolidating all your contacts into one cloud account (using a desktop browser to import contacts into your gmail, for example), and then only synching that one account with your Passport.
