I've been thinking of purchasing a BB Passport just for its perfect 4:3 aspect ratio for retro games emulation such as GBC and PSX. I've searched on YouTube and only saw a couple of videos with very little gameplay.

Just wondering whether any BB Passport owner would be kind enough to do some pictures or video recording playing GB, GBC, GBA and PSX games on the Passport using RetroArch? Throw in some gameplay moments with turbo speed applied too in games like Pokemon, Final Fantasy and Digimon World 2. With the Passport processor capability I'm thinking perhaps 2x or 3x boost is possible?

Oh and with its full QWERTY keyboard, is it capable to run DosBOX as well to play those old school MS-DOS games?

That is awesome and very promising on what the Passport could do for gaming emulation.

Can you point me to the link to Retroarch Cascades? The last update I found is back in 2014. How much speedup could you gain when enabled for grinding games such as Pokemon or Digimon?

Make sure to use the. Bar file from the link above. The APK from PlayStore does not seem to support the passports physical keyboard by default

Thanks for the tips for using RetroArch Low Joe. The SNES game screenshot that you took really entice me to purchase the Passport :-).

Just wondering how is the Retroarch performance on the Passport for emulating the SNES and PSX games, e.g. constant FPS? How's the DosBox Turbo performance running on the ARM processor? I never thought such port exist.

Looking at the Windows 95 screenshot surely is nostalgic. Have you tried the eXoDOS Collection Pack and whether they ran smoothly on the DOS emulator? Out of curiosity, is there any well known DOSBOX front end for the Passport or Android ecosystem? Using a front end will definitely simplifies the workflow of configuring every game settings individually.

I used to run D-Fend Reloaded (DOSBOX front end) on his games and they all work flawlessly with just a minor tweak on the configs for some game.

Keys don't work properly with dosbox, so you can't play games like doom or quake. Retroarch has a dosbox core but it ignores any kind of input including external keyboards. Prboom and Tyrquake crash. But emulators of systems like NES, SNES, SMS, SMD or GBA work perfect.

Only retroarch cascades defaults to use the BB physical keyboard. The other versions of retroarch don't support it

RetroArch (cascades) --> Do you mean version 1.0.0.1 by Libretro, right?

Also can you help a novice get started or direct me to where I can get myself up and running quickly? DoSBox Turbo looks beautiful!
I have a need to get some nostalgic ROM's as well (DM me, if you prefer).

    Thanks Low Joe!

    Download dosbox turbo and install

When u run it it treats the phones download folder as drive C
Just download a DOS game like commander keen and unzip into its own folder. Say KEEN. Now move that folder into the phones download folder. Make sure it's the phones download and not the ext SD cards
Now at the dosbox prompt type. CD KEEN. (enter). Then type the name of the game. In this case keen4e. (enter)
