    Nokia Lumia Icon (930)
I have never used a BlackBerry device in my life, I tried using BBM on Windows Phone and was instantly impressed by how well the app looked and how it preformed then I saw the passport and was sold. That's not to say I don't like my phone, in fact I love Windows Phone and my Icon, but I miss physical keyboards but wanted a big sceen and the passport seems to fit exactly what I am looking for.

    Still using BB Torch 9810.
    And why?
It really is a great design...fast cursor, that turns into a mouse pointer on online maps such as geocaching.com!
Most phones today have no mouse cursor, which can be very dissapointing to some.
A mouse cursor/pointer should be a fundamental design feature IMO.
With keyboard exposed, the phone feels like a mini desktop, ie screen, menus, keyboard.
    Easy to hide too.
Just can't trade it in yet.
    Thanks for your time.

I currently flip my SIM card between a Z10 and a cheap Android phone. I'm totally down for buying the Passport, but I'm very worried it'll have the double typing issue the Q10 and Bold 9900 keyboards had. Not sure if I should risk it and get the Passport or get an android phone instead (either the upcoming Moto X+1 or the HTC One M8).

It appears the Passport will win back only a select few that left BlackBerry a while ago. The overwhelming majority of prospective Passport (and Classic) buyers are current BlackBerry users. 9 pages in this discussion and you can count the iOS/Android re-converts on one hand.
Lol this is crackberry, of course the majority of users here will be coming from a blackberry. This is hardly a good representation of what things will look like in the real world

I've parsed the first 11 1/2 pages of this discussion to see what device(s) folks are using now. This is not strictly "what device you are currently using", but rather what devices you have and have used recently. Many people (like me) swap between multiple devices, either for work/home or just as the mood suits them. I confess - I'm a switcher.

No major surprises here as most future Passport owners are using BlackBerrys right now. I am a *little* surprised at the relatively high number of Android users coming back/over to BlackBerry. It's almost double the number of iPhone users. So here's what I parsed from the discussion:

    Q10 Users: 96
    Z10 Users: 78
    Z30 Users: 88
    Q5/Z3 Users: 12
    Legacy BB Users: 18
    WP Users: 7
    iPhone Users: 16
    Android Users: 29
    Other: 7

This very informal survey supports some larger consumer trends we see reported. First, the number of WP users here is in line with the generally reported market share for the platform. Roughly 2% of potential Passport owners are using a WP device, and WP's marketshare is listed as 2.5% and falling.

Not surprisingly, the single biggest group of future Passport users are current Q10 users. Physical Keyboard ---> Physical Keyboard. Makes sense to me. I am not surprised by the relatively low number of iPhone users that will convert to Passport. iPhone users are a fanatic bunch. "The Cult of Mac" is on the reading lists of many business schools as it's a phenomenon rarely seen in consumer products to this extreme degree. That kind of (mindless?) brand loyalty is the Holy Grail of consumer branding.

Anywho, that's where we stand with switchers at the top of page 12.

Current BlackBerrys owned (Q10, Z10, Z30, Q5/Z3, Legacy) are 83% of the total phones listed in this poll.
iPhone users make up 4.5% of the total phones in this poll.

My husband will be getting the Passport if offered by AT&T. He will be switching from a Torch 9800 - was holding out for a BB10 slider but is giving up.

I'll be leaving my Note2 behind for the Passport. My last BB phone was Curve that I left for Google's Nexus in 2010 (the date of my last post in this forum). It looks like I'll be returning with a new BB phone, and lots to catch up on.
