It doesn't make sense, it just needs to focus a short distance from the phone to the face
The iPhone 5s doesn't have autofocus on front-facing cameras, the same for the Galaxy S5 and note 3.
The first phone with autofocus on front facing camera is an android one made by an unknown chinese company (read: it's a marketing gimmick), and went out on sale a few months ago
Agree, Apple's camera quality is much better, both the front and rear facing one
Fixed focus with a very small aperture works best for front facing.
High sensitivity sensor and Image stabilization are more important features
