Have you tried diagonal swipe from the bottom? Go from bottom right to upper left, that is the shortcut for back button in android apps.

Can't seem to get the hang of that action. Either I'm not doing It right 95% of the time or its buggy.

Are you sure you're using >=10.3?

    I'm sure that I'm not using 10.3. I'm still in 10.2.1.

It doesn't work on 10.2 you have to be on 10.3+. As for the bottom bar, just swipe down the top of the android app and select Hide Bar.

Got this working on my Z30 . I really wish there was a way to just sync Firefox desktop bookmarks with Blackberry's native browser. I like the BB browser, don't need firefox on this device, but its nice to have.

That would explain it! Thanks. I guess I'll just have to wait. I'm dying for a user oriented browser.

Ok, so for me Firefox on 10.2.1 crashed 95% of the time. Now that I am on 10.3.1 it loads great. But I have one issue that I am wondering if i messed up or if others are getting it too..

I set up Sync, but when I go back into the sync menu in the settings of firefox I get this error "Sync is set up, but not syncing automatically. Toggle "Auto-sync data" in Android Settings > Data Usage."

First, I checked both in BB Permissions and Android Permissions (via Cobalts app) and I have every permission set on for Firefox.

So then I go into Android Settings via Colbalts Blackberry Google ID App, I cannot find a Data Usage category anywhere. I scroll down to Firefox under the Accounts category, it shows my account as Sync OFF, but it allows me to manually Sync my bookmarks.

Next, I click "Configure Sync", it launched firefox and brings me back to the original error message. Has anybody found a solution to this??

And modifications over about:config are also possible!
    Nice!
Thanks! Working buttery smooth on my new Z30 (10.3.1.1581). Good stuff!

    I installed this way:

    1.- Copied the above link ( https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla....android/multi/ )
2.- Went to this page in my PC → https://www.the-qrcode-generator.com/ in order to generate a QR code
3.- Go to Smart Tags in your mobile
    4.- Scan the QR code
5.- When you get ready to download the file add .apk to the file
    6.- Download, install & enjoy

Bonus: The QR code to https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla....android/multi/

Is anyone aware of a fix to the lack of acceleration for keyboard scrolling? Whether it's an about:config fix or addon.

Another quirk I've noticed is when clicking the addressbar (which hides the page contents when clicked and displays the new tab page overlay), and while the 'Hide bar' Blackberry setting is active, it doesn't allow for returning the original page's contents without clicking refresh or Enter. This is because the native back button in Android usually closes the virtual keyboard, so to properly return to the original page the bottom Android bar needs to be visible and be clicked twice (once to close the non-existent virtual keyboard and the other to close the new tab overlay).

Update for the back button: although there's a help tip when you hide the Android app back bar stating you can gesture diagonally to the top-left to go back it doesn't mention it needs to be from the bottom-center of the screen. Posts online stated it should be from the bottom-right to the top-left but this never worked for me. So that's one less annoyance.

Only gripe I had with this app was no option to go back without having the bottom bar present. Prefer to have all my Android apps without the bottom bar. Apart from that I actually preferred this to native.
For those wondering if you're on a Passport swiping from the top of the screen allows for changing the view mode to tablet zoom, which expands the toolbar to include a back and contextual forward button, along with a reload button. The tabs also then appear on the top like a desktop browser.

The only issue with that is the UI and site text size is reduced. Couldn't find a way of adjusting it. Would be great to have the UI of of the tablet mode with the zoom level of the reduced view mode.

I think it does. So far on both my Passport and Z30 it does work well.

I went a step further with Orbot and Orfox, directly downloaded it from the Guardian Project website. They both work well.

VPN with Orbot and Orfox equals better privacy.

Not bullet proof. Only bullet resistant.
