I finally broke down and bought a red Passport. So far I love the screen, I don't mind the size for carrying it with me and the performance is stellar. The downside so far is the camera and just learning to type on it. I have had it only for a day,but already I can see that I will get much better with it. The battery life is scaring me though, I have run it down three times already in less than a day.

Check device monitor and see what's using all the battery, has the device updated the OS? What OS are you on?

Normally the battery on a new device will settle or calibrate a few days.

Battery is weak for two reasons. One, it's indexing all the information on your device. Since you just got it, it needs to do this. Second, it's new and you won't put the thing down!

The battery life should settle in, in a day or two. This is normal.

I am not overly concerned yet, the first days are always tough on a battery with all the setup and the lovely factor. The OS is 10.3.2.226. Today should be a more typical day of use, it should be better than my Q10 I hope.

The battery life on the Passport is relatively better than the Q10. I have both and use the Q10 regularly. Love the Passport it's an absolute workhorse.

I just looked at the device monitor, it seems to be running fine right now. In the past 21 hours though, the big draws were Display - 43%, System - 42% and Settings - 18%. I will make sure to keep settings closed. Typing this response was excellent practice for the swipe keyboard. :-)
