Fair price for a silver Passport that I want to sell
- Of course someone said they were chick magnets... so if that's true, they could be priceless.
@Chuck Finley69 you had a chance to pull yours out in the "club" yet? Do the ladies on the stage notice you more?01-12-21 09:44 AMLike 0 - I would have to place all of them on my watch list to know for sure, but I do see bids going for upwards of $200 - $300.
There is the possibility of some winning bidders being new accounts with no feedback that don't end up paying, but in that case it just gets relisted and then sold.
If I could summarize:
PP SE alone: ~$200
PP SE w/box, accessories: ~$250-$30001-12-21 09:46 AMLike 0 - I would have to place all of them on my watch list to know for sure, but I do see bids going for upwards of $200 - $300.

What a crazy price for something you put on a bookshelf.01-12-21 09:47 AMLike 0 - well its not that bad, the phone does very well if you realize it does have major limitations. Most everything will work if you forget the App shortcut and go direct than add the link to your home screen. This will look like and app but use the web version.01-12-21 09:50 AMLike 0

Starting in 2022 we may see a ton of them being dumped on eBay as "for parts" if the users didn't disable BB Protect, wipe and then set them up without BB ID before the shutdown.
I think most of them won't see it coming, it's not like they'll get a notification from BB ltd telling them to do the above three steps a week before shutdown.01-12-21 09:51 AMLike 0 - 01-12-21 09:52 AMLike 0

- Not so sure about that. BB, has in the past, made consumers aware beforehand of major changes/problems. I would not be surprised to see a statement of warning to some degree.01-12-21 10:36 AMLike 0
- I wish I were a collector; but unfortunately I cannot be. So, while the passport SE is one of the best and most interesting smartphones I have ever had, I simply had to move on since I need my phone to ease my everyday life today, and it was not so easy with BB10. Having said that, I still believe that BB10 was the best OS ever and it's a shame so much went so wrong.
At the end of the day I wish I was just like our good friend Chuck here, and be able to collect devices I like for as little as he has done! Congrats to that!!01-12-21 10:37 AMLike 0 - On another note, here's a totally different story that maybe is relevant to what we are discussing here; maybe not.
Three years ago I bought a classic little mid-70's Fiat 126. Not really popular in the US, although there's some youtube videos that record a bunch of happy US owners. Anyway, mine was the interim model between the 1st and 2nd series, with chrome bumpers and all that cool stuff; but it needed a complete restoration. During these last three years I drove the car only four times. Then it spent its time at the workshop undergoing complete mechanical and electrical restoration. And in January 2020 the time came for the final stage, full body restoration....And then Covid-19 happened and shuttered everything; no more funds for the remaining restoration, and although I kept trying to find a way to do this, all failed....
In the end, I set it up for sale on a local platform, I asked for a very fair price (knowing I would be losing a couple of thousand euros in the process) and I sold it in less than a week. Am I happy? No, I am not. At the same time I know I had to be relevant with what's happening today....
And to go back to the OP, I would say that if he can get right now anything close to 200 euros, it will be a good deal; at the same time, anything between 150 and 200 euros, will still be good for a great smartphone that cannot have the longevity of a 50 year old classic car, even if it is a humble little Fiat 126.
I rest my case.01-12-21 11:08 AMLike 0 -

- Yes on the AT&T network the phone will work at least until 2022-23. Not my words theirs, The passport will look for 3G when possible but once the carrier signal is gone it will only look to 4G/Lte . VoLTE is not required. CDMA phones will not.01-12-21 03:06 PMLike 0
-
That's what VoLTE means - Voice over LTE.
Currently there are only 3 ways to place a call - via CDMA, GSM, or VoLTE.01-12-21 03:08 PMLike 0 - VoLTE as HD is not required unless the phone can connect to VoLTE as HD as well. Right now if I turn on my Passport the screen will show 4G LTE this will not change. Also AT&T sent out a signal to phones about 2 months ago that would send a message that the phone is not compatible. No message all ok.01-12-21 03:12 PMLike 0

Be interesting to see his list, and if other 2014 phones are on it as well.... as it seemed 2015/2016 was the technology change point.01-12-21 03:36 PMLike 0 -
