The original Facebook app is crashing whenever I launch it. It tries to load then crashes. I didn't update it ever since the whole issue of the update that takes you to the browser started.
Is there another solution ? If I delete and reinstall it or update it, I'm afraid it'll start make me use the browser.

How long will people depend on the non supported native facebook app. There are so many alternatives. I know nothing comes close to the real native Facebook app. But, times have changed and we ought to move on. I made the change to web based html since long back. Fortunately, now I can live with peace.

Because the native app still supports messenger in hub.

Yes it does, but at the price of frustrations?

Try the workaround I suggested some time ago: http://forums.crackberry.com/showthread.php?t=1073623
    Facebook crashing-img_20161007_070920.png

Likewise, I'd recommend using a secondary app to supplement the now unsupported native app, which is still ok for notifications, contacts and Hub related features. I personally use Face Slim which wraps the Facebook mobile page.

It's the most decent Facebook app I've found in BlackBerry World and works better imho than through the browser (specially for typing on the Passport). The only problem I've noticed for Face Slim is that it can't save pictures, it gives the option and creates a folder for it, but doesn't download them (for this, I use either the native version or just go to the browser).

Give the aforementioned tips a try and let us know how it goes.

    No frustration.
Use the native app for messenger and notifications.
Than create a home screen icon to the web site for everything else. And hide the native app icon away in a folder.
    Works out great that way.

I got a solution for that.

Sometimes, some post or content shown on Facebook crashes the app.
I'm still trying to find out what it is.

    But here to the solution:
1.) Wait until you get a notification in the Hub (comment, like, etc.)
2.) Click on it. The post will open in the Hub.
3.) Click on your name. Facebook app will open on "your page".
4.) From there, click in the news feed - as if you wanna see the "homepage"

    5.) Problem should be gone.

When it's gone try to avoid scrolling down to the post that crashed your app.

    Hope it works.
