Just for comparison, before the Passport I used to type about 55 WPM. That was using the Bold 9900. The Z10 and the Z30 were around 50 WPM. Passport is slower for me so far, but the general accuracy is better.

Don't forget for long word like responsibilities I generally use word prediction.

This app only measures the pure keyboard speed.

I also usually use word prediction... but I went for it anyway... my goal is 60 words per minute; I'll try again tomorrow.

I like this thread... it has made me realize that I don't know how to attach images to posts on this app. However I am averaging about 40 wpm. The app definitely helps improve the muscle memory!

I'm too embarrassed to post a pic. Currently at 20 wpm...any tips to type faster? Shouldn't there be a dimple on the d and k so your thumbs can find the home keys better? I'm looking at the keys often.

Practice! Try and watch the words primarily and sort of monitor the keys with your peripherals sporadically.

Accuracy is key, as mistakes really pull you back. I almost develop a rhythm with my fingers that dictates the tempo.

It's also mostly muscle memory. Thinking about key placement too much will slow you down.

Those are the tips I would offer.

Just started to type a few days ago this will take time. But not bad considering you can't use shortcuts or swipes from the keyboard.

As best I know the "K" key never had a dimple on any BlackBerry, at least not on the Q10. Been a while since I used the 9900/8820/9780/9700 so cannot remember.

For real typists the memory is based on keyboard home keys started by typewriter typing F + J

BlackBerry - Accept is no substitute. Period!
