    Hello, this could be a weekend project, very easy to accomplish indeed.

    Useful in case of Emergency Broadcasts

    I wanted to listen FM radio without headphones using the Passport speakers, so I search Youtube if someone build an external antenna (since you need something to plugin in your earphone jack in order to listen the radio).

    Found this video explanation in Youtube



    Followed step by step the instructions and this is my result:

    too bad you can't just turn the metal frame that's already an antenna into it with some soldering... or can you?

    but aside from the stiffer form, how is this better than using a normal headset and just having it play from speakers?

    Maybe put an alligator clip at the end of it? And you can clip it to the side of the car and turn it into a large antenna? Does more metal = better signal?

    Instead of making the coil "horizontal", can we make it "vertical"? It will serve as "shock absorber" (spring) in case your Passport will fall on that side...
