On the bright side, neither KEY2 or LE have any double typing issues
That's what I like to hear

Funny (and bizarre)... The double typing problem on my Passport has disappeared just as suddenly as it started. I did a hard reset by holding the Power button until it rebooted and boot logo appeared and after that the problem is gone. It's been a few weeks now since then so I guess it's enough time to say that it's entirely fixed.

PS. Previously I tried to hard reset it by holding both Volume buttons, which also made it reboot but didn't fix the problem. Also, as I have a developer unit (I got it from BlackBerry) after the Power button reset I get a request to tell BlackBerry why did I hard reset it and to send them some logs. Such request does not appear if I reset it using the Volume buttons, so there's clearly a functional difference between them. It looks that Volume buttons only reboot the device whereas holding the Power button actually resets it.
