It happen about 30 times a day on random. Is not that frequent but definitely noticeable. Try to capture that 30 times a day on video. Maybe it is easy for you but not for most of us. Like I said earlier, don't worry, you will get your own double type soon enough. Because karma is a b****.

Maybe this is a stupid observation but until I stumbled on this thread I had no double typing issues.

However, after reading what the users said, I started to notice that my device was doubling, in some cases, specific letters, such as m, n and a.
I tried to remain calm, but I freaked out, as I bought my device from an ebay seller from the UK and I'm in Denmark (and they don't sell BB here so warranty issues meant i had to deal directly with BB and I read a lot of horror stories).
After a few days, I decided to slow down my typing speed and Lo and behold, no more double typing issues! I tried to replicate the phenomenon, but since I slowed down a little I have no more problems.
Now, I feel sorry for those that have genuine issues, but I'd suggest you try what I did. Who knows, perhaps, out of blind luck, fast typing may be the culprit. Or not
Anyway, good luck to all who suffer and I hope your problems will be sorted soon

It's pretty ironic that no matter what the cause (hardware or software) this issue single hand-edly shows the sad state of affairs this once great company is now in.

If it's the physical keyboard, then the one feature BlackBerry is best known for... is now a failure too.

If it's software, then the one area where Chen keeps spewing is the future for BlackBerry success... is a failure too.

Even his focus on enterprise software/security is an example of how CEOs tend to copy the business model of their former employer onto the new organisation they run. In my career I have seen it so often. Blackberry will try to be another Sybase before it is acquired by Google.

Thanks. Wasn't so hard now, was it? Lol. All we have to do now is rule out water damage, dirt in/on keyboard, other hand fouling/dragging across the keyboard while typing, high or spiking CPU usage, etc etc and then we can honestly say there's an issue BlackBerry needs to address.

I bet my life it's a hardware issue. I haven't experienced it yet, but compared to other components like the SoC, a keyboard is a flimsy piece of tech. And considering we're typing on the keyboard all the time, it makes sense to me that they'd start failing.

Of course there's going to be a higher concentration of double typing reports on Crackberry, but nonetheless, BlackBerry has to recognize they've got to do better.

With that said, it just seems the AT&T has less problems. I do feel BlackBerry addressed a few build related issues with the redesign, not just rounding the corners.

Are you suggesting every occurrence of double typing is the result of a user having left his or her "phone out in the rain or wash[es his or her] hands so infrequently that [his or her] keyboard is gummed up with dirt," other incidental damage (negligence), or the result of "CPU spikes" or user-created software issues?

If so, do you have any sources or data from BlackBerry to back that up?
