My Passport also gets hot in top-right corner when surfing or email for several minutes.
Out of curiosity is your phone in a case or naked?

Same here. Androids apps usually trigger it. Sometimes videos do it to too. Never had a device where games and videos didn't do that.
Good for you! Lucky one. Lolz

Personally I used z10 and z30. But this over heat issue is not happens before on my old device. That's why I feel bad about this. And really want to have a solution about it. Thanks for reply

It does get warm with heavy use but that's normal. Upper right corner is where the CPU is placed.

if on a heavy use.
my phone is naked. not case at all. and....buddy if just surfing or email for several minutes... fix that problem asap. i saw some one's passport becoz of over heat, glue between the LCD got losen.
thanks, but i am on a 4G area, then, no point for me to set it into 2g.
In my case, at first I thought the network thing was causing the heat, but it turned out to be the 1mobile market app. There was a few apps needed to updated and I was in rush, I chose to update them then something happened they weren't updated probably. They ended up in a waiting list within the app. After dealing with these apps, no heating at all since yesterday.
So as everyone else said, I can confirm too that it was an android app related.

Just out of curiosity, have you looked at Device Monitor to see what eats up your CPU? Had this problem once, and found System and PIN eating up memory. Then digged further and found that one of my Accounts was actually failing when syncing the calendar. What I did was remove that account and inserted it again. Then CPU went down already.
I think that's one reason why some say that it's better not to load settings from a backup. I think something gets messed up during that process.
At any rate, try looking at CPU at Device Manager to see which one is eating up your CPU.

Mine used to only get hot while using Android Apps, but now it seems to do it with other apps as well. Mine gets hottest on the mid right.

Never noticed this at all.
The only time my Passport has ever got slightly warmer than room temperature, is when I first set it up, and I assumed that the warmth was due to the processor having to 'first-time' process 10's of 1,000's of emails across 8 accounts. (The warmth could have just been in the upper right corner, but I can't remember).
Within a couple of days there was no more 'warmth', and within 5 days the battery was easily giving me 2 days of usage between charges.
mine gets so hot i dry up my dubbies on it after i roll
Never had this issue, i'm on 10.3.2.500. The OS's before never had that issue to.
I use some android apps but they never run in the background.
I had it one time on my Z10, waze app was the problem.

I guess the PP is just too hot to trot...
"I'm too sexy for for my case...
Too sexy for a skin...
May com-bust from within...
I'm a PP, you know what I mean
And I do my little turn on the catwalk
Yeah, on the catwalk, on the catwalk, yeah
I shake my little tush on the catwalk..."
Too all the people that don't have this problem, COOL! Now go AWAY! This is for the people who's phones do get warm. Mine does all the time! "Her der I've never had this problem". Take your smug superiority sompleace else or actually HELP for once. This is a place to help not a place to boast that you got a working phone while others did not. This is a community, not a competition for those who want to feel better about themselves.

Does not overheat when using Crackberry app on my Z10.
Cool as cucumber!

We're talking about the passport. Not the z10

The corner of mine gets hot when it's working really hard. If yours is working really hard all the time, it's probably having a problem connecting to something.
Last summer when I went to San Diego, I had an improperly activated Roam mobile card in my Z10. It was struggling to connect and was so hot I was scared to leave it on. I called Roam and they fixed the activatation. As soon as the proper connection was made, it cooled right off. Did the same thing one day when it was struggling to connect to Facebook.
Check your accounts, make sure they are all properly syncing.

blend makes my phone hot
Running 2744, autoloader, no restore. Right corner gets fairly hot if you browse the web for more than 5 minutes. You wouldn't think it's a major concern, but let me tell you, if you get a call, don't hold it to your ear. You'll be sorry. For me, this is unacceptable. And I'm serious, don't hold it to your ear for a call after browsing or whatever you use to get it hot. Never had another phone do this to me. It's VERY uncomfortable.
Yes.

What's so funny OP? It's the truth! Well...99% of the time. Apps like Skype will warm it up a bit, but that's normal. I kill these Android processes when I'm done with them so, most of the time, my phone is cool.

Both my black and white Passports gets warm (hot) when running Android apps and games e.g. PV2, HD Solar System, Jelly Defence & Atlas HD Visual Body. But the white one is excessively gets warm even on native apps and games. And there must be something wrong with it since the black behave differently when running native apps / games.
