I always run my devices naked including my previous Passport's and the Porsche Design P9982 I had and now the silver edition Passport as well.

I think that may have been the problem. I have always slid the device in from the side then taken off the two corners (top and bottom) from the same side to get it off. Maybe if they included instructions for removing the case. Lol

That's sucks new phone. Maybe that piece can be replaced. At least the case that damaged it would cover that as well.

It's actually hardly noticeable with the case off as well. It took me about 10 tries to get a photo that would show it.

Putting either of the cases on doesn't really afford you much protection if you ever plan on taking either of the cases off. Here is what taking the case off did to my SE

If that's not a dent from dropping it then perhaps it's from your thumb. Your fingernail may have worn away at the corner if you tend to remove the case regularly.

I stopped worrying about such things. I rarey, really rarely drop my phones. Usually I don't put any cases on them either. Having said that I usually like to use those traditional BB leather pockets if they are available (which they aren't for the Passport), but that also results in a naked device when handling it. My phones don't show much wear and tear at all.

Sometimes even a case doesn't help. I remember my Bold 9900 got some marks on the back caused by an Otterbox Commuter case. The case actually did more damage to the phone than any drop which could've happened while the case was on. I just recently got a Galaxy Note Edge. I actually got the OEM Samsung flip shell with it, even though I never dropped it, never put it into any pocket with something else in it besides the phone, the top side already got nicked by something, whatever it was - even though a case was used.

As nice as the Silver Edition looks, I'd have to put a case on it because I'd hate to see it fall and break off some part of it.

Looks like that top part is painted plastic. I don't think that's stainless steel, is it?

Having a case or not is really not an issue. You could have a case for it when you want it to be really safe from falling or breaking. But you could also have it by its own so that its wonderful looks could be seen by others. The decision depends on you as the owner.

I always put a case on my phone. I don't care how durable a phone may be or how much they tout the durability. it also helps the resale value should I ever decide to sell it.

    Just my opinion.

Slap an ugly piece of $20 plastic on a beautiful phone. Make it thicker, heavier, and uglier.

Still makes no sense to me; to each his own.

BRB, let me go put a clear 3M bra over my entire vehicle for the off chance a rock hits it and chips the paint. It'll surely help resale value SHOULD I decide to sell it.

Edit: As long as your phone's screen isn't spiderwebbed, it will have no problem selling, even with a few scratches and scuffs, for virtually the same price as the pristine listed next to it. I used to protect the screens and bodies of all my devices. Stopped a few years back, and I've never had a single problem selling a device. I feel like the resale argument doesn't even apply anymore.

When removing these cases, always push off a top corned first, seems easier plus it is metal.

Just want to hold and carry my OG Passport naked but I'm such nerve one, afraid that it gets scratches and it is not comfortable to put it in my pocket . Have the oem flipcase but that doesn't protect the sides. So it felt twice and now I have scratches.......

The Amzer TPU case actually reminds me, in some ways, of the original piano black Passport I used to have. The Amzer case has a soft touch matte back, and the edges are all glossy, reminiscent of the exposed steel frame of the original Passport.
