Yes... it's pretty fast compared to Z30... dont expect very big change... it's good but z30 is equally an awesome phone... stick with it if you like it ... I got the passport as an impulse buy but it dint disappoint me though...

When first time 'Blackberry' appears at OS booting > to the first screen visual of wallpaper, my Passport takes between 40 to 45 seconds I recall.

In the normal BB10 OS, it feels just a bit faster. If you run Android apps, the passport feels A LOT faster

The Passport never lags, though I don't have a bunch of apps on my Z30, and it never really lags either.

It's not that the Z30 is slow, it's just that the Passport is fast haha

    Ok, I had the time earlier to compare;

    1. Boot time: from power on, PP has finished booting while Z30 is at around 70% on the squircle level.

    2. Android boot (this is the green progress bar when an android app initializes after boot): I opened 8 ball pool, and the green progress bar finished much faster then the game is already shown and being initialized on the PP while the Z30 is still at the progress bar. There's a good 10 second delay.

The Passport 'feels' the same speed as my Z30 in my hand. They've both achieved a blazing 0 MPH or 0 km/h for metric folks thus far. Neither jumped across the starting line yet in my unofficial speed feel test. Feel speed is an often under looked performance indicator ;-)

My passport does 'seem' faster in performance tests by comparison. This is likely due to the faster processor and increased ram. :-D

Just upgrad to Passport ed from Z30 a week ago. The browser is a lot faster. Especially noticable on loading media. In general the Passport is much snappier. Takes time to get used to though. I'm almost there XD

Faster, obviously faster. But if you prefer full touch device, I think Z30 is a decent device, which is faster than Z10. It is by far the most balanced BlackBerry 10 device.

Difference is night and day between z z10 and passport. Browser is much much faster. No lag. All websites load vs not loading and lagging on z10. And calls on passport are clear and never drop. Unlike the z10. I actually use my z10 more cause it's my work phone. My passport is my baby I only take it where I won't lose it or damage it

The Z30 never felt slow or sluggish for me. It is an awesome device but the PP with its square screen makes a difference.

Still love the Z30 since it looks awesome and offers a lot for its price.

This is great because I use my browser a lot. I find it a bit leggy at times especially when typing and loading media etc.

Actually speaking of keyboard is the typing less laggy/snappier on the Passport?

    Cheers

I didn't think so initially but if you use a passport then go back to using a z30 for awhile the passport feels noticeably faster

I had this problem with my Classic. I never found the phone to be slow or sluggish at all, but after having a Passport for a few months, going back was almost painful...

You got a quad core processor for the passport as against a dual core for the Z30 and the rest of the Bb10 devices. Definitely Passport is way more faster and fluid to process tasks on hand.

It's definitely faster, but I'm thinking of going back to my z30. It is more enjoyable to use and the call quality seems better.

I use my browser a lot, in fact most of usage outside the hub is on the browser. I find it can crawl on sites with heavy JS or media. I can only guess the Passport is much better, and it seems people have reported that.
