Lol... that's ridiculous. There's probably a dozen troubleshooting steps that can be taken prior to arriving at such a conclusion.

Ziro, does the BlackBerry show up in windows explorer as a device? Is the cable working with other devices? Are you sure the USB port settings on the BlackBerry is not set to USB Mass Storage or Charge only? Have you tried another computer? Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers? Does Blend via USB work for it?

    Etc etc

Do you have the latest update of Link installed? If not, see if there's an update available to download. Might just be that it doesn't have the device id (SQW100-4) in the device database.

uninstall link and all blackberry software from computer and reboot. Load latest Blackberry Blend into your phone. Plug your phone in via USB and it will ask to load software. Say yes and it should all work.

You mean to tell me it wasn't a defective phone and you didn't have to send it back?

Thanks for sharing what you did to fix it, surely should help others with this issue down the road.

Link for Mac works fine with the SE, just not showing a picture of the BlackBerry SE...

That's a good option that way you are setting up the drivers only for that one device! Glad it's working

Sometimes plugging in a different BlackBerry device may cause a driver's installation conflict! The best solution is to uninstall bblink and reinstall with your new device that way all settings are fresh and only catering to the new BlackBerry device connected to bblink!

Interesting. I've never had any issues with multiple BBs. My entire immediate family uses my father's work laptop with BlackBerry Link installed for our devices. It has my mom's old Z10 and her AT&T Passport, my sister's Z30, my dad's Z10, and mine as well. All different BBIDs also.
