    Hey guys,

I'm having a hard time deciding whether I should buy the Passport or not. I've had a Blackberry around 6 years ago and used to love it but it eventually made the switch to Android and have been with it since. Now that the Passport has been released, I've really been tempted to switch back. It's really unique and the specs are high end.

Has anyone made the switch to Passport from Android? If so, how did you experience go? I haven't tried BB10.3 yet so I'm not sure how it is.

The problem is I do heavily use Hangouts which I could change but I also use Snapchat a lot along with Facebook. Besides that, there aren't many solely Android apps that I use.

Are there third party apps that are great for Snapchat?

A quick word on my background. I'm a third year University student so not business oriented by any means but definitely do use email quite a bit along with reading a lot on my phone. That being said, I am more of a social user rather than a business, power user. I definitely would love the battery life though. That's something I'm struggling with on Android.

I currently use a Nexus 5 and love it but I'm enticed by the Passport...

    Thank you for your help!

I can't say much about the android apps because I don't really use/need them (I only use tapatalk) but this phone is really great for reading and typing. And as you mentioned, battery life is amazing, I'm good for 2 days and a half with one charge.

Thanks for the response! Yeah, I'm leaning quite heavily towards it. I live in Canada and just called my Rogers store and it's 799 off contract.. That's a 100 more than I thought it was. Guess I'll have to wait for it to go back on sale on the official store before buying if I decide to get it...

Snapchat android version works fine,as much as the Facebook android app. Anyway, the BB FB app has been recently updated and seems to work better then before For what third-party apps are concerned there's snap2chat (search on the forum for info about it).

Oh awesome! And would that Android Snapchat app be directly downloaded from the Amazon store or is it an apk you have to load on?

It would be unwise not to. Hahahaha
Seriously, very premium device. 10.3 is a big improvement and future looks bright.

If you need a tool, and not a toy, then switch.
If you want to make time and not kill it, then switch.
If you are a person of action, and do not need distraction, then switch.

I switched from Android and iOS but that does not mean anything to you. Your experience and needs are unique.

I use Google chats (not Hangouts since it won't load on my BB) and it works well.
Skype works great as well if you require video chat.

If you need great battery life on Android, try the Ascend Mate 7 from Huawei. Excellent from what I hear.

    Good luck.

Install Snap. It's an App interface which hooks right into Google. It's a one time sideload but so far all Android apps are working fine.

Please don't buy a BB Passport - I like being part of an exclusive club!
