In my entire life i charged i charged my mobiles turned off,one of the reasons i never had BB devices in the past, cos they always turned on when i wanted to charge the battery. Was happy to see OS10 had the turned off charging option. Imo its far better for battery to charge when the diveci is completely off,as in bedtime or flight mode, cos the device is "running" and in background are some apps, functions on. What are your thoughts about it?

You really don't need to turn the device off to charge. Not sure where you got this info from, but it is incorrect.

These aren't old NICAD's batteries that retained a memory. We have new technology called lithium ion batteries, they don't retain a memory and do better if topped off instead of depleted and recharged(you can actually completely kill a lithium battery by fully depleting it(less then 3V per cell)) . Also the charger that is supplied, has more then enough amps to charge and run the device at the same time. Most manufacturers realize that people tend to charge the device and use it, so they supply a charger that puts out enough power to do both.

I always charge and use the device, its my alarm clock when on the charging dock at night.

FYI, you could charge older blackberries while they were off to, you plugged them in and turned them off. If you did it vice versus, they always turned themselves back on.

Yes,i know that the "memory effect" is over with li-ion and li-pol batts,my point is,that the battery needs rest too and since i am not so long (maybe 1-1.5) a BB user, wasnt sure how bedside mode, flight mode effects BB devices...have to admit, that PP has a great battery, second best i had ever since Huawei Mate (4050 mAh) or Razr Maxx,so i wanted to hear older BB users opinions how are their charging ways

Always on. Same for most rechargeable devices I own. Not sure of any reason or benefit to turn it off. BB10 isn't any different than BBOS in that regards.

BBOS never really turned off unless you pulled the battery.

I also noticed, that OS10 is really stable,my android devices had to be restarted after after 2 or 3 days, got laggy and slow...also read several reviews that BB users restarted their fones maybe twice in a month or even less, cos those run without any lag etc

I had both the Huawei Mate and the Mate 2 and my Passport battery is lasting longer than them.....probably because I was on Wind at the time and constantly searching for a signal.

Hmmm... Never encountered that problem with my current Android devices. What do you have installed? Donut? Eclair? Froyo? ;-)

Never did this on any phone I've had since the monochrome Nokias in 2004.

And never had any issues with any either.

    EDIT:
I did however started turning off my BB's when the battery hit 10%. For different reasons though.
On OS4 to OS7 devices: to be able to check my inbox at least once even with low battery (usually while travelling).
On BB10 devices: those bricked Z10 threads!

Never turned off any phone that I ever owned.

Furthermore, it's much better to charge the battery when it's on. Cause constantly switching off electronics are bad for it.

Everytime you turn on an electric device, it gives a shock to the entire system. Hence the reason why all smartphone and computers are designed to remain on all the time. Legacy BlackBerry devices were the best example, there wasn't even a way to turn it off, except with a battery pull.
