so, I don't want to buy both PhoneTap & ParrotPro ...which one will simply work on my passport ...I have the stock firmware 10.3.0 and I would like to simply be able to record a call before or during the call only when I want to do it... can someone help me to decide? I MUST have it work with the SPEAKERPHONE feature on my PASSPORT ...if it works with bluetooth, that would be nice, but for me not a must...
That is the issue I had.

Maybe it is a bug on some handsets but I have known a few others with this issue. I am jealous it works on your Passport though >.<

OK... here goes, I discovered I had PhoneTap free on my passport from before ...I put it on & it updated... offers to record when call starts ...recording is .amr ...scratchy & unintelligible playback is very fast ...VLC player allows an option to lower the playback speed ...I tried 50% and 20% ...slower, unintelligible, scratchy noise, not any good... does anyone have an idea if the parrotPRO will get better results here?
I've never had any quality issues with my call recordings on Parrot Pro. However, I always record at the highest available quality setting (.wav file).
parrot pro is my very first paid app & it does not work as I wanted ...I asked in advance via their link in the free version, but they didn't respond ...now that I paid for it, they respond saying speakerphone & bt function doesn't work because bb didn't release the APIs for those... drat! I am disappointed... I don't believe in paying for nothing ...no offense to the developer intended.
Parrot Pro is awesome!
Works perfectly and headless on my Passport SQW100-1/10.3.1.1016.

Good news... waiting4update & hopeit works w/speakerphone !!
Watabout speakerphone? I have 1418 too...
My experience is the same, can't get any of the call recording apps to work with my passport, which is frustrating.

I have developed a work-around. If I am in a quiet locale (my office, for example), I raise the handset volume to max and conduct the call. The parrot pro records that clearly for my purpose & then I delete it. My only question would be whether using max volume on calls would be detrimental to the speakers... any knowledge on the latter issue?
Parrot Pro worked for me

the issue remaining is that it works fine on handset but not on speakerphone or BT headset ...the work around I put up is to get it to work for me... sort-of using the top voulme of the handset which is audible as a low-volume sort'a speakerphone equivalent... not great... if BB is scared stiff of the lawyers dragging into the fray, why don't they make the developers put on a periodic beep tone that everyone knows alerts them to a recording in process...??
