I have no idea what happened but suddenly a few days ago the battery life on my Passport became lousy compared to when I got it, I'm struggling to make it through a day on a single charge. This is made even more disappointing as when I first got it I was seeing between 2-3 days based on my usage, I would be considered a light to moderate user these days. I have no apps running in the background, I even close Blaq when I'm done catching up on Twitter. I have a strong and constant DC-HSPA+ at home and at work and I rarely play games.

The only thing I can think of is the recent 10.3.0.1418 update, has anyone encountered any issues with this update? If so, what can be done? I've done a search but I find the search engine on CrackBerry to be pretty much useless so apologies if this has been brought up before.

Been on 10.3.0.1418 since day one, my battery life has been unprecedented on AT&T...I've had 60% remaining on average by the time it goes back on the charger at bedtime.

I wish that was my experience. Mine just hit 12% and it's now charging. It was taken off of the charger at 6:54 this morning, I made one call on it around 9:00am for about 20 minutes. Other than a few emails and BBMs, I've only fired up Blaq twice to catch up on Twitter. Most of the day my Passport has sat in my pocket doing nothing as I've been too busy at work to pay it any attention! Next week it's going to be used a lot more, is my battery going to hold up? I have my doubts. This is worse than my Z30 ever was and is a massive disappointment. If it keeps up like this, if there is no answer, then it will have to go back. I may not have needed to rely too much on my phone this week but there are times it becomes more important then any other business tool I have. I need to be able to trust it and right now I don't.

Been watching the logs for a couple of days now but nothing untoward. The apps that I have are pretty much the ones I installed and updated when I got my Passport. I've always closed Blaq when it's not in use, more out of habit than anything. Nothing is running when it shouldn't be.

I've been running the 1418 since its release by Telus on Saturday and I've read several accounts about it actually improving battery life. So far, it's not working for me.

Check the device monitor if you have any apps that are taking more battery/cpu usage than usual.

I would also check your accounts (email, calendar e.t.c) if you have one with an updated password or something, and it's not syncing properly, that could be the reason.

    Sorry to hear that.
I took it off the charger last night at around 11pm. My PP doubles as an alarm clock. One night and an entire day (23 hours) and I am at 76%. I use about 20-25% per day. It takes me about half an hour to recharge to 100%.

Not sure if that helps but I am running SR 10.3.0.908 and OS 10.3.0.1418

I'm at 25-30% per day. It's pretty amazing. But last week my work email was updated and my password changed on my computer at the office but not on my phone. For 2 straight days, my battery was draining in 12-15 hours until I find out about my exchange account. As soon as I updated my password on my device my battery life was back to normal.

I will add that when I updated to 10.3.0.1418 (908), I just unboxed the device, booted it up with a Rogers sim, connected to wifi, installed the update, then after it came back up I installed the AT&T sim then did a full wipe before setting anything up. It's definitely worth trying a wipe before you give up on it. And like the other guy said, make sure you don't have something trying to sync with a bad password. Bottom line is that the Passport battery life is the best of any BlackBerry before it by far, and better than most phones available anywhere...so if yours is draining quickly, there's an explanation and a fix for it, even if that means having to RMA it for a new one.

Why is it that when someone has battery issues they never post device monitor screen shots?

I'm sure there's an explanation for the poor battery experience.

I'm disappointed with the battery life as well. I was actually expecting it to be quite a bit better.

I get about 15 hours on LTE this is with a mix of heavy usage for maybe 1/3 of the time and light to moderate for the rest.

Check for constantly refreshing pages on the browser. They drain the battery / data fast.

I consider myself busy, and I don't get the bad battery you describe, unfortunately.

I suggest doing a clean install.

I would recommend looking into your account settings. Maybe reduce the sync intervals.

Thanks to all the responses, I've tried pretty much everything suggested so far so I guess it's a case of "wait and see". PP came off charge at 6:30 this AM, I'll be monitoring it throughout the day today and it's registering 99% less than an hour later and only 16 hours left after some very light use. Again, no apps are running in the background. Blend is defaulted "Off" at both home and work.

To the person asked why I didn't post a screen shot of the battery monitor; well to be honest I didn't see the point as nothing untoward was showing up. If the problem persists, which it looks like it will, I'll post one later.
