Since my phone carrier doesn't work with my Passport in 4G I tried another SIM but that phone operator only works with 3G network.

Both phone carriers have different frequency settings in the menu.

This is my main phone carrier (the one that doesn't like my Blackberry Passport)

This is the other phone carrier (it only works in 3G)

As can you see both phone carriers shows different freq. settings.

Still don't know what makes a phone carrier refuse to work with a phone brand.

Though you often can get the Passport to work on other carriers, you often will not get LTE. Here are the radio bands for the Passport. If you can match bands with another carrier you can get 4g or 3g. Some CDMA networks like Verizon the Passport will not work at all. How well a device works depends on what bands are available in your area. When a carrier agrees to make a phone a part of its sales option, the manufacturer makes sure the phone has the band's necessary to work on that network to its full potential.

here are the Passport bands available:

How can I get my classic to choose to use 4G, or LTE or Edge, etc.? I saw the option pop up in settings once but now it's gone.
