When you've spent half the day cut, paste and editing emails etc on a PP SE, you realise how much better the Classic is as a works phone - how long does it take to get used to, it's a joke

I understand how you would prefer the Classic for this type of thing. The trackpad is a very handy tool.

This is very true though. The trackpad on the Classic certainly makes a HUGE difference when it comes to selecting and copy and paste functions

The cut and paste in ALL BlackBerry sucks ***. By far the easiest way to do this en masse' is to use Blend. Then you can use your mouse to copy/paste.

Cut and paste in BB10 has always been a bit "dodgy" to say the least. But serviceable. Just one of those things.

USB OTG with mouse. Just tested on my Z30, and it works (just a little differently than on a computer). Will that work a Passport?

I agree Cut and Paste is a pain on BlackBerry 10 and with the PP even more, the Classic is a lot better with the trackpad... but hey webOS and PalmOS had that figuered out smoothly and fully functioning without a trackpad, many years ago...(both RIP)

Shame BlackBerry as the most real comparable PKB manufacturer did not hold up those standards...

And they did not even make it happen on the PRIV...

But who knows perhaps there is hope for it with Mercury, ... actually...no I don't think so...

Otg, what's that? You don't need USB for Blend to work with BlackBerry. It can go OTA or WiFi too.

I don't know what your problem is with cut, copy and paste? I find it extremely easy to do it on a Passport. However, it is much easier to do on a BlackBerry Classic :-)

Sorry, USB On The Go. It allows you to plug a mouse and/or a keyboard directly into the phone (or other USB devices).

Are you saying: you use your passport, then within a text box you are clicking and holding the screen to bring up the paste icon, and then pasting some text.

And somewhere along that process, your shift key and virtual 4th row are disappearing?

Maybe are you missing the text box as you long-press the touchscreen?

Whats the nature of your problem? Here's what I do to select text: tap the place where you want text selection to start and hold it there for a second, the field of selection will slowly increase line by line. The other way is to double tap the keyboard to bring up the selection bubble then hold shift and use the capacitive keyboard to move it where you want text selection to end. The cut copy paste controls should just pop up on screen.

The only thing wrong with the classic is the camera, lack of apps, and outdated tech specs. Other than that, it's very useful for copy and paste
