Cracked screen
Hi guys, my passport screen cracked during an attack last night, by a random angry driver, because I waited at a red light! As he pulled me out the car it fell on to the road and I have a small crack in the bottom corner (the side where the volume buttons are)
Does anyone know if it would get replaced under warranty as it's only a month old? Or would I have to pay for the repair? If so how much? I bought the phone outright from carphone warehouse in the UK. Thank you for any help.

Good luck my z30 screen cracked while I was in bed reading a news article and BlackBerry told me to pound sand.

? What? !!
An angry driver forcibly pulled you out of your car and... wait... what??!
Are you hurt? Do you have someone / someplace to go for a pat on the back or a comforting hug? Did you have to do something bad to protect yourself? Did the police put him in a cell away from the gentle citizens of the world?
Thanks for sharing your story. It's wrong for people to take their anger so far and for society to be so unconcerned. I wish you a speedy healing and continued will to abide by the righteous path.
I don't know how BlackBerry is handling repairs right now and there doesn't seem to be screen replacements abundant on the Web. It seems you have to call the point of sale who will then send it to a BlackBerry service centre for you. You or the perpetrator will have to pay for everything, perhaps through insurance.
Sorry for the negative experience. I'm a timid person so I don't know how I would have handled that and feel hesitant to advise going after the big bad wolf. From similar cases on court TV, plaintiffs with proof such as a police report tend to win and it's going to be expensive to fix.
Hopefully your retailer will give you a temporary phone while yours is in the shop. AFAIK cracked screen = dropped = no warranty because warranty covers defects. I've read stories here about people getting insurance to replace carelessly dropped phones so its worth a try.
Keep your chin up. Best of luck.

Hope you are not hurt, the screen can always be fixed.
CPW has some sort of in-house tie up with Geek Squad. If you didn't (& IMO normally shouldn't) opt for the insurance thing CPW tries to club with device purchase, you'll have to pay for the repair.
How big is the crack? If the screen's working alright you might wait for some time for the replacement screen/ digitiser to become available online and then it'd be a simple DIY job :-)
