What should be the typical system % running in the background? I am running 10.3.0.908. I am new to this and would love to keep this Passport but my battery life will have to improve for me to keep this. I left Android for better battery life. I'm just am not getting it. System % is rarely if ever below 25 to 30%. Reboot or not. Thanks ahead for any help.

First thing is to set your app permissions not to run in background ever as that will kill battery life, also if you load any droid apps they will need to be tamed via hard re boot of your phone by holding both volume buttons simultaneously. Adjust your screen timeout to 20 seconds also reduce brightness on phone and you should see a dramatic increase in battery life. I am a heavy user and by the time I get home I have about 60% left.
Hope all this helps as the passport is a fantastic device once you get it to your liking.

Also streaming music with Pandora or Spotify or anything like such will kill your battery and data if you don't close them out completely.

The advice above is great. In addition, make sure location, Bluetooth, NFC, etc are on only when needed. Try to stay on the strongest possible network connection for data, WiFi or cellular.

As already mentioned, the display, as awesome as it is, can cause fair enough battery drain. I would personally recommend even trying 10 seconds for timeout. I keep the brightness minimum and can still see the screen great but the general rule is to keep it the least brightness which still makes it a comfortable experience for you.

I would say look in your Device Monitor for what's been consuming the most battery. That will help you understand much better.

I came from a Z10 and initially did all of the above. I don't bother any more and still get 24hours easily. I don't run many android apps in the background, but if I do have to, you can kill them easily with ghost commander (another android app). Its the only one I have found that properly kills the app, all the taskcontroller apps don't seem to do anything.

The main drainer of the battery is the screen. If you have it on all the time, then the battery will drop faster. Decrease the brightness and you'll see bettery battery life. The device monitor has lots of good info about what your phone is doing. Check out the CPU page to see what is running, and the battery page to see what is chomping your battery.

My CPU is currently at 2%. In the last 48 hours, the display has chomped 50% of my battery along with 22% for Arcane Legends (a really cool 3d RPG I spend way too much time on). Even with this, I still easily manage a complete day.

Here is a couple screen shots from the last 48 hours. I don't know if that sheds any more light on my problem.

Wow that's high! Try selecting system and look at the times when your phone is going crazy. Maybe you can gain better insight.

Something is not right if your display usage is less than pim services.

I had my passport for few days too, and this system cpu problem is also giving me trouble. I have quit all apps, had very few apps installed, and opening system only shows system is running higher than usual and using up battery in the background even when the phone is in standby...

Only way to resolve this is to reboot.

I think I have narrowed it down to an Android issue. Specifically the Life360 app. I have deleted most of the Android apps and it seems to be a lot more stable now. A little disappointing. I was hoping to incorporate some of the Android apps I still would like to use. We'll see. Thanks for everyones help.

I had that life 360 on ios and that is a huge drainer! Very good app but your phone will be dead in 2 hours as you have to keep location services on
