    For those who got the backorder email:

    Did it still show the original. pre-discount price?
    mine showed the original pre discounted price

    That being said, my credit card was charged yesterday for the discounted amount.

    Ah...well my discount was $150 ($599 >> $449), I suppose those with a higher starting price had a slightly bigger discount. Either way, it's a drop in the bucket for them and likely won't be worth any potential backlash and/or negative press by bringing attention to it; and conversely, will create some goodwill with the most loyal users that snapped it up, and get the device into more hands. Hopefully common sense prevails.

    Then again, they're probably not too keen on all those that are cancelling orders placed in previous days to get a discounted model, then turning right around and cancelling that order to get a "vip" model.

    Mine did as well, so hopefully that is just an automated email that pulls the info from the product page. Everything else I have received (Submitted, paypal and confirmation) all show discount applied.

    I have a question... how much mark up do retailers have on their sales?.. I mean if a retailer gets 25% then clearly BlackBerry hasn't lost a single dime... and certainly still increased their sale figure ...

    Also just received the backorder email at full $699 price...which I thought was $599 originally being in the US...and then the coupon price on top off that. My card was also charged for the coupon price. Just have to wait and see how this all plays out.

    Just checked my order status and it states "Boxed Shipment." Invoice still shows coupon price. No idea if it'll ship out next week...and if they'll honor the coupon price. Lol.

    Just wanted to update... got the second email about 4 hours after the 1st email:

    In regards to shipping... the "Shipping Address" is the "Billing Address" that I listed for the purchase.
    Also, there are no "shipping" charges. You can clearly see the "$0.00". Also, you can see the 25% discount applied for using the discount code from yesterday.

    Unfortunately, nothing in the invoice, first email, or second email indicates that I actually purchased the "VIP edition". I hope that we all indeed do received the VIP edition...

    Actually, let me retract the "shipping" charges... It does say "$0.00"; however, the "Shipment Tracking Numbers:" area is blank. So, until I get a "tracking number", I can't definitely say that there are no shipping charges.

    Also, I have NOT received a 3rd email indicating that this is back-ordered as some folks have received.... time line summary for me:
    1:30am: Placed Order
    1:41am: Received first email
    6:33am: Received second email
    All times are PST.

    If I receive "back-order" email, I will update again...

    I placed my order at 6:39pm Eastern time in Toronto, got a second confirmation email at 7:00pm, nothing for me says backordered, so hopefully I am good to go! called them too, the customer service said they will email again when they ship it out

    I think we should start putting what time we placed our order, where from, and if it's back-ordered or not.

    I ordered at 6:02pm EST from the US BlackBerry store. I got my confirmation order email at 7:43pm. No back-order email so far.
