Contacts app on my Passport has developed a strange behaviour: it refuses searching contacts by a few specific (random?) letters, like D, G, H, K, M, R, T, and V. When I key in one of these letters in the search box, the app comes back with 'No results', and offers 'remote search' on my corporate EAS account.

Searching Contacts by first and last names that start with any of these letters produces similar results - although, I do have such contacts, and can see them when manually scrolling down the list.

    Thoughts, anyone?

My contacts search function works, sort of... sometimes it brings up names starting with the letter I key in, sometimes it doesn't.

I had the same problem with the Q10. I have to see if the Passport does the same thing.

I had the same problem as well. The possible cause is corrupt back up when you restore. The only solution is to reload your os. You might try to restore again, but what I did is sync through Google contact or outlook. the funny thing about this bug is that, it work well on phone apps when you search for names but not on contact apps. Use the phone apps to search for contact until you had time to reload your os.

Running 10.3.1 (we still haven't receive 10.3.2 in Italy) For some reason the contact search refuses to find "Stefano", wheras Steve is fine.

I have the same problem from time to time. I've actually lost contact info. But when I search it doesn't locate the contact I would manually search for it. The telephone numbers would be missing for some reason.

This usually occurs after I transfer my contacts or restore my device with link or device switch. I first noticed this when I transferred my contacts from my Bold 9780 to my Z10 a few years ago. I have experienced it each time I upgraded. Z10, Z30 and Passport.

I haven't tried transferring transferring anything to my Leap but will see if this occurs when I do. I don't know why this happens but I've seen this issue many times over the years and BlackBerry is aware but haven't corrected it. I have over a thousand contacts and it's absolutely important because I use my device for work everyday. The worse feeling I have is to search for a number I know I had but it's gone.

Thanks All, I don't feel alone anymore :-)

Btw, Passport is the first BlackBerry device I'm experiencing this issue. Whole contacts and/or specific details had been going and coming back on my Z10, however, the Contacts app being selective in this particular way is new experience to me. Not the most thrilling one, I must say.
