So I have always thought that Blend could either be linked to the smartphone via USB or via WiFI, as long as the phone and the computer are on the same local network.

Now I've seen reviews stating that both can be connected vie cellular networks, for example, if I forget my phone at home (would I do that really ? ) i could control it from my PC at work.

    Did I miss something ?

Yes, you can use Blend via cellular using desktop/laptop or even tablet, iPad for example.

From what I understand, you can share your cellular data with you PC to create a local WiFi network on the go
Set up your device with BlackBerry Blend - User Guide - BlackBerry Blend - 1.0.1

But it still needs to be on the same network
I don't see how you can manage your BlackBerry at home from your work PC (well except if you're working from home lol)

All it needs is data once paired. The pairing process has to happen locally. It sets up a secure tunnel just like remote file access has since Z10.

We're not talking about sharing device cellular data with pc, we're talking about using Blend (connecting to device) via cellular - it is not the same.

One more time: your can do it
