That does seem to be BlackBerry's attitude.
And it is really really really sad. And very arrogant to think it is your customer's fault that you are almost out of business.

I tend to agree with you but then I think back to the Z10 launch. The phone was quickly available in many countries. The United States was a different story. It took a very long time to finally release the device in the US and that put a stop to any positive momentum created by the New York launch event. I don't believe for a second that BlackBerry was at fault for the delayed release. After all the devices worked in all those other countries but for some strange reason, US carriers didn't think they were good enough for the American customer base. To me that delay hurt BlackBerry more than anything else.
Nice to see that this time they went with the unlocked route on Shopblackberry and Amazon. The back order numbers suggest there actually may be more demand than BlackBerry anticipated. I guess we'll see when the financial results are released at the end of December.

I am still up in arms if BB could have made AT&T release the phone. I am convened that AT&T and the US carriers do not want to sell BB's at all
It's my bad for getting a Z10 when they became available?
I doubt BlackBerry got duped by AT&T into an exclusivity agreement. I'm also sure that the agreement contains more terms that just "Yeah, AT&T is the only company that can sell our phones in the US". If they didn't stipulate availability dates they are fools.
I really don't think BlackBerry is refusing to allow AT&T, or any US carrier, to sell the phone...

It is a case of AT&T holding out for either stock or certain options, maybe the new OS upgrade? Either way, the more I think about the AT&T next plans, I may just buy outright. You are going to be paying more than $599 over the next two years, so if you can afford to lay down the cash why not?
That's what I did, should have my passport today!

right, and with the 2 year "upgrade" you'll end up spending $900+ for a passport. hence why I bought mine unlocked.
