i am wondering if this case fits the passport with a hard shell on, since looks like there is extra room on the sides...

Here is a photo of this case with the Passport inside:

Looks good, though does add a bit of width! Hopefully still pocketable.

I've used pouches before but found it rubbed the keys and edges too much (paint on frets on passport possibly). I wonder about the abrasive quality of wool

No it won't but you can email Ryan London and he can make a size adjustment. New leather is very snug.

Just to let you know, I'm not liking this very much. The outer edges are not bonded and neither is the bottom. It does have wool felt though but I can see it soaking up what ever liquid gets to it from the sides or bottom.
Thanks for sharing that. I liked the Ryan case at first, but was wary of the wool felt. I was hoping for something more like the leather pouches that Saddleback Leather makes for the iPhone, but unfortunately they don't have a sleeve that would fit the passport.

to add to this conversation, Mr Ryan told me by email this morning that the Passport would fit in it with the hard shell on... by any chance do you have one? kind of silly question because after your experience i don't see me buying one, but just for kicks... thanks and i am sorry for your experience, that would help others for sure...

Sure Ryan, why not. That's the picture on your site for what I ordered so I'm not sure what your implying. What does that picture represent then since it's at the blackberry pouch section of the site and the place I ordered from. I bought and spent a fortune on this pouch based on the surety I was getting what is advertised. There's a black version that shows the sides unbounded but not the bottom if that's what you referring to? Anyway for $107 Canadian plus shipping I expect superior quality. Your response to your customer was to ship it back? Why would I pay the expense and what would you do with it since it has my name embossed? Now I'm upset...not good to do that to a customer.

oh man, this is terrible... i guess Mr Ryan is reading this (he was before) and if he is a nice seller, he will find a way to solve this issue quickly... as you said, an expensive case like that HAS to be perfect... but let's see, i hope he stands behind his product and provide a satisfactory resolution... sad because i was considering this case, no anymore... good luck!

Almost forgot, the top should of been stitched since the leather is coming off the wool felt.

I studied the photos perhaps in more depth, but I did not expect the leather to be bonded. I understood the felt to be exposed around the edges as it is. That in fact, was part of the appeal to me - as I have a lamb skin jacket with exposed wool - it's a part of the style.

That being said, I do see how you could have assumed otherwise - a few more photos, with complete angles will help dispel any further assumptions like that. Hopefully it can be resolved to your satisfaction! Best of luck.

I was the lucky recipient of the first BB Passport Ryan made. I have since had another one made in black. I will post images of them tomorrow. I am absolutely delighted with them both. Ryan and I collaborated on the design and i cannot overstate how helpful, flexible and responsive he has been. I am sure the issues experienced by lightower are the exception. Certainly appears to me to be based on a slightly skewed expectation. I'm sure it will be resolved to both parties satisfaction.

For those considering this case be aware that it adds considerable bulk to an already big device. I ordered the black and felt case. I will say that it's construction is good but the combination of leather/wool makes it bulky and thick.

It's hand-made leather cover that I just got from a shop in Vietnam, the pic may not be nice as much as it's in real, since I'm not the pro photography :-)

The new version arrived and it's excellent quality leather. Notice the stitching all around including the top as well as the credit card holder. Fits nice and snug and looks fantastic. Love the smell of top quality leather.

Hey man! You see, that's a lot better IMHO. And I am happy that the Ryan guy worked out with you a good solution for your previous issues, good for him. I will check them out again to see if I find the one I am looking for (pouch case with belt clip, with snug fit of a passport with a hard shell on)
