How do I make more room in my 3gb of memory?

Specifically the system memory?

You can't manage the memory with third party apps. BB10 takes care of that on its own.
If you have several android apps installed, you should reboot occasionally to clear the inevitable memory leaks that occur within the Runtime.
This comment is right on the money. I run about 10 android apps (instagram, pinterest, netflix, other social, banking, local utilty company, local news, and sports apps) . I find myself doing a hard reboot about once per week. Always solves what is I perceive to be that dreaded slow down of my device.
Passport. It's not as big as you think it is.
Reboot, or use the App 'Taskmanager' to close the Android apps that work in the background
Task manager doesn't release consumed memory.
Thanks for this thread. I have been getting memory notices lately. I have not rebooted in about two weeks. I shall do that right now.

WhatsApp eats up my internal memory.
How can I stop this and at the same time save my chat history?

Do you mean ram or storage? How are you concluding this?
I do not know how to save chat history. I've read elsewhere that it's not possible.
I mean storage. I have 2 whatsapp groups that are very busy. Whataspp backs up my chat history everyday. Within a week, it is over 3 GB. I then have to move it over to my SD card

Well, that would seem to be a function of the WhatsApp app itself. I don't think BB10 has much to do with that. I think WhatsApp has always been active in the BlackBerry betazone. Perhaps you can ask the developer there.
Why would someone want to use a messaging* system that uses ones cell number?
*social
Why would someone want to use a messaging system that uses one PIN? ;)

Android Apps do have the clear data button in device monitor, but be warned any setting or account will be removed.
Native Apps should manage temporary usage themselves, but not many do.

I'm assuming he's talking about his chat history file though. Not sure.
Because you can't dial a PIN? ;)
Unless it is super critical chat, why collect it? Can you not afford to delete it on occasion? I can never understand why someone would want to NEVER delete these conversations unless they are really important. Anyway, hope you resolve things one way or the other.
I've never understood it either. Same as sms messages.
If you demand an audit trail so badly, and think that a full history is mission critical, I find IM/sms a strange communication vehicle.
I can understand wanting an occasional screen shot of an address or an important tidbit of information.
