It appears that it is impossible to use the Cisco AnyConnect VPN on the BlackBerry Passport. The device offers Cisco AnyConnect as a VPN type but when selected it says that it must download additional modules and goes to BlackBerry World. However, nothing shows up in BlackBerry World.

    Any ideas?

    Not cool.
Could indicate BlackBerry and Cisco was working on it, but Cisco never submitted a working VPN client.

Or that Cisco never updated the profile to display the apps as being compatible. I did the same thing you explained OP and I get 7 files listed.

I meant that there is no specific application that I need actually showing up.

JC says he is about enterprise but without this one app I know my company will never go back to BlackBerry. It's crazy to think a "business" phone doesn't even have a popular choice enterprise VPN. Because of this I have to carry a stupid Icrap along with my beautiful White Passport. SMH JC

I agree completely. I need AnyConnect! Is there any way we can put the question to Chen directly? Does he have an email address that he will reply to? Is there someone at Cisco who can tell us if and when AnyConnect will be out for BB10?

It is coming, As far as I know this is part of the BES 12 VPN connection ability. Sometimes takes some time for your sysadmin to get this configured correctly, especially with it being new. From what I have read it also only runs from the work side of balance.

AnyConnect was promised from day 1. Almost 2 years later and still nothing? Don't hold your breath.

Granted with BES10+ you don't need VPN but not everybody uses BES10.

Yeah, I actually found info on Google dating back to the launch of BlackBerry 10 and AnyConnect is still not available. Pretty pathetic for an enterprise focused company. They really got to get their act together on the business application front. We don't even have native support for Microsoft Office, OneNote, or anything. Even our DocsToGo are worse than other platforms and BlackBerry owns the bloody company.

You can argue BB should never have shown AnyConnect in the list if the app was not ready.

The AnyConnect client app however is a job for Cisco, so turn to them and ask when they are ready.

    I'm waiting for this too.

With as many clients I have, and my own workplace that uses Cisco Anyconnect - I really wish I could use the Passport's RDP app for support of those environments. Without Anyconnect VPN, that is not possible.

It has only recently become a vpn type selection in 10.3.1 builds, so can assume it is finally coming in January?

If you want RDP why don't you look at IT Manager with their connector option?

Those asking for AnyConnect can't use the Cisco ASA option.

Actually, in the latest quarterly report it was announced that several new enterprise apps would be available in January (i.e. really soon now) including Cisco AnyConnect. I imagine it will be released alongside the 10.3.1 update for remaining BB10 devices.

Where did you see the AnyConnect option? I don't see it in my list of gateway types.

I'm also guessing the app will be an Android port since I've heard nothing internally about a native BlackBerry 10 application.

It shows up on 10.3.1 OS. The download links to BlackBerry world, but there's no app for AnyConnect yet or course. Hopefully upon official 10.3.1 launch:
