Had to switch back to my Classic yesterday due to a very painful right thumb. I've got relatively large hands with long fingers, but trying to use my Passport with one hand is still not easy especially when trying to click the far left side. I've seen a thread about using an app to align homescreen icons to be more easily accessible, but that doesn't solve the entire problem. Anyway, the pain got so bad yesterday that I had to put my beloved Passport down and fire up my trusty Classic.

Anybody else experience this particular painful malady using this behemoth?

The Passport does not lend itself to one-handed operation. I knew that before I purchased it. The only times I try one-handed operation is when I am walking the dog or carrying something...never while driving. I have learned it is best just to stop and respond using two thumbs...and a lot quicker.

Yep. It really got bad! I type with both hands, but navigate with one. I'll give it a few days to heal and fire up the Passport again.

You can rest your typing thumbs by using a touchscreen keyboard like on the Z30. virtually no thumb strain at all!

Never had the problem. But, I'm not a 'one-hander' really ever. Once in a while with a coffee in the other hand but usually I restrict myself to reading content in those instances rather than typing it.

I also have the Classic / Passport combo and, to be completely honest, find the Classic to be slightly less comfortable on my thumbs as they can get a bit cramped. The Passport is a dream!

This problem is due to extensive use of mobile phones over a period of time. It may be a coincidence that you got it now..

I actually had this problem switching back from a PP to a Q10... after using the PP the Q10 was actually too small and awkward for me, so I ended up straining my hands on the super small device :P
