My guess as to why the demos haven't showed the keyboard features is because they aren't actually there yet. What you see on the table may just be a normal kb... could be delayed on purpose to protect the technology or because it's still being tweaked.

It could be, but it's a device that is going to be available in 3 months... they should at least have a working prototype by now, even if the software is bugged.

They must go into production in 2 months at worst.

I'm not sure if it's for me personally but I think I'll buy it anyways. I love BlackBerry and what they do. I'll do my part to support them.

Never loved it before but seeing the video makes me love it but not as I do the Classic.
Might take a while for me to get it as the price will be way too high in my planet.
I might just win it off CB if I post the 10,000,000th forum post.

You tech guys, Chen keeps harping on the 1:1 ratio aspect of this phone. What does that do for me?

Is this something that is desirable for engineering/scientific work? If I am a doctor looking at x-rays or medical records do I want this type of display?

It seems like this is an important point. The qwerty keyboards all have this 1:1 ratio. It must be there for a reason.

I expect (or hope) they have this covered... but how do you type numbers? Do we have to use the touch screen? That would seem odd considering there is a keyboard.

I have to admit...I thought it was fugly when the Windmere leaked pics came in. Then wondered how this form factor would be even viable when the new "Passport" pics came out.

Just went to my drawer to get my Canadian Passport, rocked it as if it were a phone.

My next phone will be the Passport, form factor aside the innovations that are rumored with the keyboard and active frames makes it a lock for me.

    It looks interesting.

I wonder if the next full touch screen phone would simply be a "passport touch"... hence have the screen go all the way down. that would make a 5 inches screen

It's possible that the software still has to be tweaked out. But the hardware, by now should be ready... especially if Chen showed of the phone in front of the whole world.

Also my guess is that they probably purposely decide to hide that feature for now. They need to keep some marketing tools.

For a device that I first thought was really ugly, I now think is really cool and sleek and different.

You know if you read the mainstream tech blogs, the comments are mostly positive. In the past, everything Blackberry got slammed by everyone.

    I wonder . . .
