Yes, I'm aware of those tricks to help the phone charge faster. My concern was that sometimes I need a quick mid-day charge while I'm on the road but I won't be able to if the phone charges too slow.

Does the Passport not have turbo charge?

    Posted via CB10
Yes it quick charges for about the first 30 mins if below a certain percentage.

Wow, defensive much? QuickCharge isn't an Android technology either. It's a Qualcom one.

    How so?

Cause my Passport charges from15 to 55 % within 30 mins. Than slows from there.

That would be 40% within 0.5 h. Are you sure you're using the correct charger?

The charger that came with my Passport SE has a maximum current of 1350 mA (or 1300 mA, I can't be sure because they use a tiny font), which means that it can supply maximally 1350 mAh, i.e. 40% battery capacity, in 1 hour (not 0.5 hour).

Are you sure that it was an 1800 mAh-- or was it 800 mAh? Something is not right.

Playbook charger is 1800 - higher than normal 850.

???? I was responding to yyz321 who stated that he WAS using the 1800 mAh charger for 3 hours and it went to only 50%. Re-read the thread. That is why I asked him/her if he/she was mistaken for the charger output. I have 2 Playbook chargers and use them all the time. I know that it is 1800.

Than what's that called? Cause one would assume a battery to charge evenly from start to finish without "turbo" charge.
So the Passport does have a quick charge to some degree, since it does charge the first 50% faster than the remaining 50%.

No. Charging isn't and never was linear. Batteries always slow down the charge as it fills to prevent damage.

Well you may think so. But from my past experience that's not true.

Yup, just double checked. It was with an LG 1.8A output charger.

Not sure what you mean by past experience but all BlackBerry OS10 phones I've had so far were slowing down after reaching 70-80% charge. I don't believe Passport is any different.

You said cell phones don't and never have charged linear. Which I was saying from past experience is not true statement.

If you have the oem BlackBerry charger for the passport, you'll easily notice that the charging rate drops when it's near full. Just look at your device monitor.
