It's an Android Tablet dock by Belkin...it has an adjustment for the connector (to raise or lower) so that it can work without removing your case. Nice and heavy, great quality...for about $30-ish. It will definitely do until BlackBerry releases a Passport dock.

This does look like it would provide good support!

The only downside I see to these plug in style docks is wear and tear on the charging port.
Back in my 9900 days it was perfect. With the charging connections on the bottom, you could drop into the dock, and it would start to charger and quick pull it off whenever you had to pick it up. No messing around with the port, no wear and tear.
If the Classic would have had the charging connections like the 9900 then I might have gone that way. Sadly I think those are things of the past now.

Also on a side note, I don't think BlackBerry has any plans on making a dock charger for the Passport, so good find OP. This will get the job done.

True, the 9900 charge pod was great. But, the charging dock for the 9800 was good too -- and that was a USB dock. In fact, my wife has been resisting upgrading her work 9800. She's skipped 2 cycles as she hasn't seen anything she likes better. She's been using the dock at home and work since almost day one of the 9800 launch and her USB port is fine. (The device itself looks BNIB as well!)

I loved the drop-in chargers too, but I think because today's devices are such power-hungry machines, 2.1A charging is the norm, and I don't think you can do that with those contacts without heating them up a bit. I would have loved to have seen Qi inductive charging on the PP, could have used the Nokia charging stand that I have.

I'm good with this dock, it looks pro grade like the Passport, and is perfect for the nightstand and bedside mode.

2.1 amps? Is that too much for the Passport?

No. I've been using 2.1amp chargers for almost 2 years -- going back to my 9900. No worries at all.

    Looks nice. Thanks OP.

Would be great if SlimPort (or any of their authorized manufacturers) would come out with a multimedia dock. I would be all over that.

Just to be clear, this dock doesn't come with the actual charger, just a hard-wired 6ft cable with a USB connector...so you use your own charging block...the one that came with the Passport works just fine with it.

I will say that the flexible nature of the connector that plugs into the phone can make it a pain to dock it properly in the dark when you can't see it to line it up. But I can live with that...

Received this Belkin dock today and found that the connection to the phone was too tight. A previous poster concerned me about the longevity of the micro USB port on the Passport. So I fixed it by using a Dremel tool with a small stone bit. I removed the retaining tabs that were causing the problem. By grinding these down the phone slips in and out with ease and charges fine. If you choose to do this be careful not to grind off too much and make sure to air blow all the grinding off. I'm not responsible if you screw it up.
