I have switched networks and brought my old number with me, but my passport still thinks I am using the temporary number. Any ideas how to change it?

    Thanks

Usually it takes several days for the carriers to port the number from one network to the other.

That sounds strange. Which carrier do you have? I port numbers between AT&T and Verizon back and forth very often. It's a 10-minute process. The longest time I had to wait was 20 on the day the iPhone 6 was released.

Most likely not the phones problem but usually I do a reboot when I change numbers or even swap SIM for it to register properly.

That is odd. I went from Verizon to AT&T and like quangtran said it was a 10 minute process.

Totally agree. I always get to a spot with strong cell signal, reboot the darn thing, and it has always registered quickly.

Just call your new carrier from another phone with your powered off. Tell them what's happening and you'll probably have it fixed in a few minutes.
